The arm on the Thorens (Ikeda) retails for 5 times the cost of the Linn. A really well set up Linn LP12 with an Ittok will sound great. And who knows, Paul's system sounds so magically musical he sorta doesn't need analog unlike most other high end systems to make it listenable, so the table may not get much usage. I'm looking at the LP12 as an experiment. If it gets tons of use, then great, Paul can sell it and move upwards without a loss.
IMO all high end systems need analog vinyl playback to take it to the next level.
Many may disagree, but until you install a great vinyl front end you will never truly get the most out of a real high end audio system.
just saying.
