Where's all the Shindo owners?

I just got here. I am pleased to find a new Shindo home as I was banned at AA for calling Dan out on his editing of John Devore's posts.

Sorry Chris. This is your version.
It is easy to say anything here while you know that Dan an Ivan won't come to correct you.
What really happened is pretty different.

Hey Jerome. Nope. I called them out on how it is bullshit to edit John's posts and I alluded to the fact that Dan does not moderate for "free". That got me an "infraction" I then posted that if they were going to warn me and give me one more chance I would return that warning. Then I was banned. That was how it happened. If you have another story feel free to share it.

For that matter I would gladly share the same story at AA but I was banned so I can't!

Chris,

The problem is that John DeVore, as a manufacturer, cannot promote his products if he is not a sponsor. He can answer questions and give informations but not advertising. Dan as a moderator is there to make the rules respected. If you contest him publicly, you are breaking the rule of self moderation. Ivan, the owner of the house banned you. Not Dan.

AA is a private owned company with rules. You ignore the rules, you pay the price. It does not get more complicated than that.
Can you imagine yourself being invited in a private home and ignoring and breaking the rules written everywhere in the house ?
I do not discuss if the rules are fair or not. Private rules are not meant to be discussed. We accept them or we leave.

You got a point there Jerome; irregardless if we like the rules or not. /

All that is true. And none of it differs from what I posted here. So why call me a liar?

I will point out that Matt is a paying member and a dealer of Devore so it seems really odd to me that the manufacture cannot answer a question in a form that has his name on it.

I did not call you a liar. You just did not mention all the story.
Matt from Pitch Perfect is a sponsor. Not John DeVore. Matt could publish indeed anything about the lines he carries.
Official information from a manufacturer is pretty different than informations from a dealer. It has a liability part that the dealer does not have.
Moreover it would be too easy : a dealer pays one sponsorship and adverts for multiple brands ??? So each brand can cut the price of the sponsoring. Sounds very unfair to the site to me.

Yup. They are the rules. And they are stupid. I am glad to be gone from there as I do not agree with them.

The part that I really hated was that Dan edited the posts but left no trace that he did it. If he wrote "edited by moderator" it would have made sense. He did not and it made John posts convey the wrong message.

That's why we are lucky not to have that sponsorship crap over here. Unfortunately for Mike it means lots of out of pocket costs for him every month. It does make for one helluva audio forum though. So welcome to AS guys and lets leave the petty squabbling to those other forums.
