I haven't bought an LP since 1994, or maybe it was a little before that. It's been CDs or SACDs since then.
There are two things I can affirm. First, that the are good sounding CDs and bad sounding CDs, just as there were good and bad sounding LPs. Secondly, early CD players didn't sound so good but the next generation were much better; today there really isn't an issue with digital sound.
If you like the sound of vinyl better, fine. But I suggest you suggest you rip you LPs to digital and seen how very much like the vinyl the digital rips sound. The difference is essentially all in the mastering.
