Nice Mike... My very first concert. Taken by my big (foster) brother when I was, if I remember correctly, in 7th grade. Kennedy Pavillion in Spokane, WA on the Gonzaga U campus. The woman singer with David LaFlamme had a see-through top on and no bra. I was awestruck. Also my first exposure to huge clouds of second-hand cannibis. It all went downhill from there.
Just got tickets to see Keb performing next month at BB Kings in NYC (tickets are pretty much sold out AFAIK). It's been over 15 years since I saw Keb perform live in Portland, ME.
So that inspired me to pull both the original Okeh and the PP reissue of this release off the shelf. The PP has their usual signature and overall prefer the original release. Just love the sound of his steel guitar. Do wonder, however, how the MOFI compares with the original given all the hoopla surrounding their reissue? Funny thing though. I thought this was a digital recording but MOFI says mastered from the original tapes. So wonder if it's one of those digital recordings transferred to tape?
Myles, I am not sure, it does sound very good & the chamber waves can be heard on Kebs' guitar so I don't mind either way. Will see if I can do some digging.
Edited later on....... heres is the most common term that i found 3 times on different dited in less than 5 mins.. "Half-speed mastered from the original tapes...etc"
I had one of his pre-glam CDs, AntiChrist Superstar or something like that. Good album for that genre. Always remembered this line from one of the songs on the album: "I wasn't born with enough middle fingers". LOL!
