^This.

And those that like to start arguments just for the sake arguing! These two reasons why I stay away from most other forums.

People who have to have to last word, especially two of them in the same post. I'm guessing that they aren't married or haven't been for a long time (or have an extremely tolerant spouse) or don't or haven't had teenagers.

Moderators and punctation spelling police it is a form people often reply off the cuff and not like it is for publication in a high end mag. If you do not know something like how to post pics asking should not be a crime. supporting a idea should not get you Green ink and threats of a time out just IMO. If a form says Whats best thats what it should be about not whats best I can afford. If gear is out of mine or your price range does not make it stupid or bad just high priced . Lets face it 500 dollars is too much for some 500,000 is not for some. I ran a foul got a warning on one site I deleted all my posts over 300 I guess I do not like green ink. I thought that would be whats best IMO

I disagree Dan. It allows prospective buyers and interested audiophiles to communicate and ask questions.

I agree. I have the option to ignore a list if I believe it is too long or totally overkill. One of the advantages of knowing what audio gear someone has is the ability to send a PM with a specific question, etc.

And insult those who do by saying they are basically crazy, and are hearing imaginary improvements.

Yeah! Prove it! Where are your measurements! :reallymad::reallymad::reallymad:

Well if 1/4 the participants list their system, it's a lot. (That's a plea!) Personally one of the pluses of the net is the ability to share experiences. (BTW that extends to health and many other things too!)

Maybe, if there was a place to list your system information in your AS profile other than the signature section, more people would participate.

What does it matter ? I would prefer knowing someone's system in their sig to have a better idea where they are coming from when they render an opinion. Why add the needless effort of going to someone's profile page that probably won't have the system listed in a short and concise manner ?

If sometimes then
I have something else to say. :boing:
Else
I would edit the above. :P

Yes, it takes so much effort to check someone's profile page.

PS- you need to update your signature to show your $15K of magic Entreq boxes and cables.;-)

Posters that write "product a trashes product b"... Oh, and guess what, they typically own product "a", of course...

Christian is absolutely right. What if you're writing a note and forget the person's system? Then either you have to copy and click on another page and then go back and find where you were vs. just scrolling, finding the undo and and then going back to your post in progress. He'll Dan, you are an IT type guy and you know it's all about time! Why waste time clicking on another page when you can have all the info in front of you? :)

Really a front for selling gear. Although this does provide a service.

+1

Or they are a shill for that product. Doesn't happen all that much here but see it all the time on Audiogon. Many times some new manufacturer takes an assumed name and tries to promote their product. Happened just the other day with some Rao cartridge made in Taiwan.

Corollary (hmmm...spell check put coronary in here first?) is I heard so and so.....

What ticks me off is that I'm occasionally foolish enough to be drawn into such pointless arguments.
I hear what I hear and self-styled "skeptics" wielding half-understood science shouldn't annoy me. Unless I allow them to.

That brings up full circle to point one! :congrats:

Terminology derived from a manufacturers' marketing driven pseudo science. It happens in other verticals too not just HiFi.
