What are you watching?

The 2.5 hour Breaking Bad bonus disc that takes us behind the scenes for the final season. (Came with the Blu-ray set.) Wow...the dedication and attention to detail are astounding.

Last night | Revisited ::

--

* Extremely highly recommended. ..In English: 'A Very Long Engagement' (2004). ...Ten years old.

- My take: This is another cinematic Masterpiece directed by the Frenchman cineaste Jean-Pierre Jeunet ('Amelie' -
'The City of Lost Children' - 'Delicatessen' - 'Micmacs'
).
Starring Audrey Tautou, and also (in smaller roles) Marion Cotillard & Jodie Foster. ...And a bunch more of other excellent actors/actresses with wonderful characters and charisma and passion.

First, the story itself: It's wonderful! It is intricately intertwined (weaved) from an expert hand, from top to bottom.
...The vistas, the compositions, the actors/actresses, their interactions with the story development, everything is just so wonderful!

Words cannot describe a true piece of cinema art; it has to be experienced, viewed from your own eyes and ears (the musical score is wonderful).

On Blu-ray the picture quality truly shines, and the audio is sublime! ...From the war scenes to the love ones.

It's a wonderful movie! ...Truly a piece of moving Art. ...Camera work and all.

___________

I'm sure that most of you already saw it, but for the ones who did not; it's a marvelous film!
And even revisiting it; particularly on Blu-ray, and in French - with English subtitles for most of you - again it is wonderful!

Last night I re-watched this marvelous flick (in French) directed by the Frenchman cineaste Luc Besson - 1999 (fifteen years ago).
{In English: 'The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc'}

--

Me I simply love it! And I totally disagree with this particular reviewer's take (just click on the picture cover).

The story is expertly told, adroitement dirigee. The actors are fun and captivating.
The overall cinematic experience is exquisitely charming and fascinating (grabs your interest); even with all the blood bath.
...Some violent scenes for sure, but that's the way it truly happened anyway.

- Visuals: Excellent; the color's palette, the costumes, vistas, locales (extraordinary), the green pastures, the color of blood, the earthy browns, the armures, the actor's faces, the skies, the real decors, everything!
- Audio: Sublime; enveloping, caressing, innovative (in particular for the time), ... just perfect!
- Acting: I already mentioned; top-notch actors and actresses that know how to make you interested in the story. ...Impeccable, and fun too! ...And just look at the list of actors and actresses in it!
- Story: Based on a lot of research, and recreated for our own divertissement (entertainment). ...Some true amazing facts too! Hey, that's what was going on over 500 years ago in Europe! ...France & England.
- Overall: It's wonderful!

* Good (amazing) replay value, in my book. :)

------- "Last night I had a dream, and in the spirit of the fall I was falling into an art mode." - Bob

--

* Films are like music recordings; they have a different impact (intensity level) each time we re-watch them.
Not two days are alike in our life; with time our vision gets clearer, more open, ...we become more aware.
Our "mode" (mood) is constantly evolving, renewing itself under a rejuvenating and brighter/shinier light.

Our mood (internal state of presence - inner self) is as powerful if not more than the changing weather outside,
or the audio component's changes in our rigs (including cables).

'The Fall' is a cinematic masterpiece! ...To revisit it is to truly appreciate art on Earth. ...It is really wonderful!

Sorry to disappoint you. I have never beamed up to a ST convention, gathering or festival. I am not on any ST page, facebook, twitter whatever. Nothing. But I do enjoy watching the shows and movies on my tricorder.

I love movies. Good movies, bad movies, fun movies, big movies rand little movies. I am slowly though hating to go to the theatre. Lines to get because there are not enough ticket sellers, lines for the expensive food, lines for the bathroom. 8-10 coming attractions, maybe a commercial or two before the movie begins. Crying babies, cell phones, talkers. I love that I can get a blu ray and enjoy the movies at homes with better popcorn. Funny, I still have a line to the bathroom.

Hi Barry, I'm big on Blu-ray. ...When we have to go to the bathroom, we pause our BD player. :)
...At home, no discomfort of any kind, total pure enjoyment. We're in total control ourselves of our own destiny, no one is dictating us of anything; we have the remote at hand, and we can push any button we like.

Last night I re-watched this flick ::

--

- In French: 'La Regle du Jeu' -- French mono audio soundtrack (LPCM).
- Black and white French flick from 1939 (just before, at the beginning of ...) -- 106 minutes running time.
- Best French flick ever made -- According to many Cinema experts.
- 1.33:1 screen's aspect ratio -- Perfect for those older B&W rounded tube TVs* from the 50s. ;) ...Good to keep one around.

* Reminds me of the turntable.

--- I was in the mood again :::

--

* And the Supplements are worth watching too (it's less than one hour anyway).
