Mac. I click on picture icon, paste URL, unclick the checkbox (seems like it saves it locally then?), click ok. Those the steps?

That's how I do it. When I choose my pic I right-click (or tap the track pad with two fingers) choose "Copy Image Address" and then paste using the steps above.
