Some of my favorite speakers I sold a few years ago were some of Albert's early creations and what got me hooked on good midrange. Continental Clearfields from when he worked under the Counterpoint Umbrella.

Congrats!

I visited a friend today who not so log ago purchased the VR30's. The version with powered bass. The sound quality was amazing. Coda electronics and Playback Designs DAC.

He has his room treated by GIK, he sent them pictures of his room and they fixed him up. He had the bass dialed in very good to my ears. The speakers had little to no toe in and about 8 feet apart. The sound stage was huge and deep.

I've heard VS at the show a few times but his audition was the best I've heard. Maybe because it was an actual room and not at a show :)

I good go on about how good cymbals were etc. but it probably wouldn't mean much. I would say the VR30's are very good and worthy of their price. If shopping in that level they should be on your audition list.

I've had my Alexx's for around 5 years now .. I think. ... LOL. I really love how they sound ... the best I've ever owned ... That said I recently auditioned the VS Ultra 11's and all I can say is OMG! Now I just need to build a new house with a room to fit them! :-)

So after 24 hours of playing one can hear them start to settle in. They sounded great right out of the box and so far I have only moved them around a little bit and I am letting them play. I have no idea how far I can take them but if this was it they would still be a really great pair of speakers. I expect by Tuesday when I am back in the store that they will have gotten most of the break in done and the rest will happen slowly over time. I am not a believer that things can't be good after 12-24 hours and in fact the 500 hour thing I don't buy 500 hours for many people this is months of use.
For now they are on the factory setting and I pumping different types of music through them.
