Do they sound better or just different? Many times when I get bored and move my speakers around I find that they sound good, perhaps a wider soundstage or more focused, but it isn't necessarily better than where they were before. Usually a few days later they end up right back where I started! :bonkers:

Steve. I bet the Snappers and vinyl driving the Veneres is outstanding!!!

Very funny Doug and oh so true. When you make a change and it sounds different at the time, but is it better or just different? What is "better" anyway?:huh:

I packed up the S5's and all of the Absolare electronics and Echole Omnia cables, which are all leaving today for their trip out to the desert. I set up the D3's with the Kondo G70 driving the LM 501 with all Ansuz cables and Ansuz darkz and SparkzTC....yikes is it good. The D3's ribbons do something for me that nothing other than another ribbon speaker might do.....pretty special sounding.

Oh no Bob!!! Aren't you gonna miss your beloved absolares? Are you getting back the same amps? I love the fact that hearing any speaker at your place through the absolares reveals a lot about the speakers themselves being driven by lower watt tube SETs. My end game stereo has a pair of SETs in there somewhere not as powerful as the absolares ,probably in the 8-18watt area but I need to have a speaker that can handle those and veneres or the magico s1 are not those speakers. I think I'm in love with those white s1's , could be my next purchase after the phonostage. When are they coming? :)

I love the Absolares but I must say that the Kondo pre and the LM with the D3's is in the exact same league of sound, albeit different but right there.

My S1's probably will not come until my trip to LV and then I have to go to LA for a few days to the Goldmund house. I will be back around 1-14-14 and the S1's should be here soon after that. I didn't push it to ship the S1's as I won't be here anyway.

Actually my set of Absolares that is going to LV will probably be going to their new home after CES....probably sold. My "Ultra" set with remote volume and many premium parts will be coming to my place in mid January.

That is the problem they are all good, along with about 50 other brand/models of speakers....lot's of good stuff out there, that's for sure.
