thanks so far so good!!!

Ha! Congrats Steve, I bet it's good to have some home sounds again!
oh man I only have like 4 discs, and I'm determined to get these nice and broke in for when the table arrives, so they have been played a lot ..
Just to have music again is soooo nice!!!

What a sexy speaker! You did good Steve!:)
Haha I love sexy!!! Thanks

I did alot of breaking in since Tuesday . Got around 35 hours already.
Today was great cause it's muted football on the screen all day and good music.
Think I ran for 8-9 hours today. About 1/2'way through the day I noticed that the lower bass has tightened up a lot . And it seems almost a little deeper. Cause the background music is now clearing up tremendously. I'm guessing 100 hours will give me a good enough time to do a little critical listening.
Thx everyone I'm happy it was a good purchase and way better than I expected especially for the value. I heard the 2.5's before and these are like different speakers.
3.0's can rock!!!!!

Steve, I want to say how happy I am for you, you've been waiting patiently !!! The speakers are gorgeous ! I bet the Snappers are sounding really good now.
When you get that TT setup you're going to lose your mind. :exciting:

Thx Mark!! Looks like the cartridge should be in the US by Wed or thurs .
Then 5 days to my house. Luckily I'm busy next week . I'm praying it's here before next weekend , otherwise my head may explode!!!
Thanks again

Steve, I love what the speaker look like. They look much more expensive than a $3.5K speaker that's for sure. Congrats....get that TT all set and just sit back and enjoy the tunes. Life is good. NO, life is GREAT!

I agree Bob!

Can you canoe?

We will have to ask Martin if he is going to supply "oars" with the Waves......I guess that is why he built the outboard Xover with the "tail" connecting to the speaker - it can be used as an anchor in shallow water.

Ha!

That's funny Bob.

Steve told me that I will like the Waves. Should be fun!

Lmao!!!! I didn't realize how big the waves were until I saw them in person
They are good size and the woofer in the middle is good size too.
Could I live with venere/ snapper
Wave40/ set's , oh hell yea
But I think I like arc vs115/venere
D1/ snapper
Wave40/ absolare

Yea that's better. Lmao!!!!

I don't think anyone is prepared for the "immediacy" of the sound of the Waves with the Absolares. It allows the SET's to show completely what they are capable of, which is different than any pp tube amps or any SS amps. Again the "immediacy" and clearness of the notes is mind blowing to me personally, ymmv of course:0)

Lmao!!!!!

So I found a review of the 3.0 and after living with these speakers for near 3 months now I totally agree with everything said. With 2-6" woofers I knew the lowest bass would not be there and it's not , but that is never an issue for me. And although the soundstage is great it's not as deep and layered as the more expensive speakers. But other than that , what a great speaker for the money!!!!

Steve - they are a terrific value and look and sound like they cost a lot more too!

Steve...enjoy them. With regards to stage width and depth and layering of images it could be that the way you have placed them also are not optimizing the staging performance. Paging metaphacts (Bill) :D Steve...you might want to PM metaphacts (Bill) and see if he can give you any placement pointers that will help on that front. Enjoy them for a very long time!

Thanks!! I have been moving them around a bit. I found they work better with a wall on the side as opposed to out in the middle like I had them . So they do have the depth and layering , just not as much as the d3's I been listening to at Bobs. of course there is a $60k difference in price . Lmao!!! Yesterday I found an awesome spot moving them back 2 feet them moving my listening position up a foot. And toeing them a little less. I'll try this for a week then move em again. It's going to take me months to find the right spot. Little by little . Thx again!!

You'll have new speakers by then! :)

Do they sound better or just different? Many times when I get bored and move my speakers around I find that they sound good, perhaps a wider soundstage or more focused, but it isn't necessarily better than where they were before. Usually a few days later they end up right back where I started! :bonkers:

Well yea they sound better about 2 feet off
off each side wall the bass is deeper yet still nice and tight.
With this table I feel I have no coloration from the table anymore. I'm neutral
And of course the tubes and fabers lean warm. But snappers don't lean as warm as one might think. It's my pre that leans warm and liquidy. My soundstage always leans left a little with any setup I have had in this house and it's because what surrounds the left speaker is different than what surrounds the right speaker. And there is nothing I can do about it, except move. Lol
But yes it sounds great in here!! I doubt even if I buy new speakers that I will get rid of these. They are fun and can pump out some sound and are efficient and can do big loud muddy bass as well if I use the CD player . Yuck!!! Lol
