Dexter, try also some vintage National Union 45 tubes from Ebay should be less than $70 a pair. Combine that withLa Dolce Vita's metal base Gz34 and you will have a great sound. If the metal base is too pricey get the WW2 RCA JAN 5r4gy (pre 1946). There is a guy in Arizona selling them for $88 each:

He also has more 1944 JAN RCA 5r4gy for $88 a piece. This is the double angled getter WW2 fabled recti, that many claim threatens the WE 274b.
Andy from Vintage Tube Services (http://vintagetubeservices.com/) has the right RCA tubes as well. And he has good selection of American rectifiers and output tubes as pretty reasonable prices. Ask him about 45's as well.
