Hey, MDP,

What about remarks like those cut a pasted from posters directed to me in response to a discussion that was open for friendly, informative debate. Did you send those who responded to my posts in a rude manner a MDP warning, too? Will you?

Have a look. This is the sort of thing I am getting from two of your seasoned readers. It appears when I bring up issues that are true it stirs up controversy because what is said does not fit into their philosophy or knowledge bank regarding the audio hobby. If I indicate tubes cause the sound to roll off at high frequencies a few dB the owner of tube components wants to chop off the head of the messenger. If I specify that digital manipulation of the signal to the speakers can eliminate the need for room conditioning and accomplish a better result, I'm telling those who have installed room conditioning they have (by fiat) screwed up by not going digital, therefore, they want to cut off the head of the messenger. If I do not get into enough detail about an issue, I am told I am limited in knowledge, another will write and tell me that I am writing like a teacher on his first day of teaching class on Audio 101 at a Jr. College. In other words, if I do not write and mention issue that agrees with their idea of what audio is all about and how it works, then I'm a pest on this site, in this thread. Do these guys get an MDP warning for that?

Now look at this one sent to me today:

Well I can think of no better evidence of the malady from which you suffer (which I described in my post #41) than what you have just written above. I suggest you pull back a second, take a deep breadth and consider that the world is bigger than you envision. Your above post to Mike reads like a Teaching Assistant's first day in Audio Class 101 at the local community college and yet you have the testicles to babble on pedantically as if we all just fell off the turnip truck.

Did Mike authorize he be represented by the person who wrote the above statement? Was he MDP warned for doing so?
This person expects me to write like an audio engineer and not a person who simply enjoys being an audiophile as a hobby. Failing to do so implies that the posters on this site just fell off the turnip truck (meaning they know nothing about audio). While another person writes that my writing is condescending and talks down to people because it touches upon new ideas now in vogue in the world of audio such as digital control of the entire front end of a stereo rig. Another indicated my response to their posts were too long and style of writing puts them to sleep or is boring. Another felt that my world is small compared to reality (my words, but same intent), another felt because I am a Doctor of Clinical Hypnotherapy, I am using my occupation and degree against audiophiles who post on this site, and well, I could go on and on. The posts are all there for you to evaluate. The point is, I'm simply writing about what I know which is fact and the truth...pure and simple. It's clear to me that some of the participants in this thread are bent on controlling it and, I might add, have judged me when they have no idea about me, who I am, what I do in this hobby and most important what I know about audio. Yet, I have not judged them unless they said things about me which are not called for and have nothing to do with the subject matter at hand. My responses in these pages are about audio. There responses are about me and my misunderstanding of what they think great audio is that works within their philosophy and subconscious programming, including the hi-fi set up they currently listen to.

I have been asked to detail what my audio set up is comprised of. Since it is a custom set of great complexity, if I do detail what I have in the way of components, cables, speaker enclosures, drivers, sub woofers, digital manipulation, CD/DVD/SACD-Blue Ray player and digital pre-amp-processor, and how it all works (especially the digital manipulation of the raw digital signal fed to the prepro... I suspect I would be attacked and branded as some sort of demon from Audio Hell out to destroy all that audiophiles hold near and dear to their heart about a "state-of-the-art" stereo. I think out of the box using applied science, math and proven facts. This is what I have seen some of the worlds most advanced audio engineers do that has elevated sound accuracy in one's home to levels, here to fore, were not thought possible.

Therefore, the audio system I have drops peoples jaws when they hear it. The realism of the sound of music is reproduced with such uncanny precision that you think you are at the live musical event. It's truly astonishing. The computer modeling of the speaker enclosures, the Scan Speak drivers that were chosen, the digital cross over net work the quad driver application requiring 8 monophonic Anthem amplifiers to drive each speaker independently and the 210 pound speaker enclosure finished in hammered bronze and copper, the extremely low capacitance and resistance speaker wires and connection cables, and well, custom 110v wiring from the steet into my component rack closet, digital conditioning of the current supply, hey I could go on and on and get into an air suspension mid range arrangement with a ported woofer and an air suspension subsonic woofer and why this was done (backed by acoustic science). So, if I did all of this, and much-much more, it would be a lengthy detailed post to completely satisfy this persons request. And no, I can't just toss out brand names and model numbers of hi-fi gear. That's because the vast majority of my gear is custom engineered and built. It has no model number or brand name. Why? Because there was nothing available at retail that could accomplish what was needed to reproduce sound that could satisfactorily mimic the original "live" sound of music in such a manner you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between the sound from the speakers and the sound from the musical instruments and the singer's voice. However, I now believe, without question, by posting what I have, how it works and why it works I will have two or three respondents brand me as a "know it all who knows nothing" because it is created with out of the box thinking and foreign to what they know...and an audiophile who does not come to worship at the church of audiophilism as it is understood and practiced today is a doomed to an audiophile excommunicaton at least on this site, in spite of the scientific facts that back the build of my hi-fi rig.

Therefore, if you are not willing to tone down these people who, in fact are talking down to me, and have no knowledge about what I know other than what I have mentioned about some basic facts about audio in my response to their posts, I will respond to them in a like manner. Like I said, I don't like bullies.

For responding to their posts, I have been accused as thinking the contributors of posts on this site just fell off the turnip truck (inferring, contributors don't know what they are talking about). Those are his words and not mine (see past up of quote above). That is his belief which is, in fact, dead wrong. I have never questioned the knowledge of any poster on this site. Indeed, I have complimented it in a few instances. If a statement is made by opinion (not backed by science or measurment) I will bring that fact into play because its true. And, I don't care if it is not politically correct.

Please read the posts and my replies to those who have posted in response to what I have said and vise-verse. Then I would ask that you warn these people to stand down or I will expose them to what I really do know about audio after having audio as a hobby for over 50 years by asking them questions about audio to which they likely will not have an intelligent answer simply because they are not audio engineers. What I ask about will be well over their heads and I will expose what they are obviously up to in regards to why they are responding in a negative manner. I did not come to this web site to scream look at me, I'm the world's expert on audio (because I'm not). I came to this website to learn, read, write and share information pertaining to our hobby. Like I said in one post, an opinion is just that...one's opinion. Until it an be scientifically confirmed as correct by measurement or otherwise, it remains simply one's opinion, thus open to scrutiny. It appears that a few people on this website took that statement as threat because they probably own hi-fi gear who's manufacturers make statements that cannot be proven scientifically nor can they as audiophiles prove what they use to listen to is as good as it is advertised to be. Hey, sorry about all of that, but isn't it better to let the truth prevail in these pages? Is that not what the true audiophile seeks?

I came to this site and this thread as a friendly audiophile. I spoke what I know is basic facts so novice and advanced audiophiles alike could enjoy and benefit from my posts and develop the thread into a fascinating dialogue for the "average" audiophile out there (and I have met hundreds of them in person). I also came to this web site to learn what I could from those who do post their issues and thoughts about audio.

I know where from I speak and back what I say with science and EXPERIENCE. I would think that would be desirable to this site, its visitors and members and this thread in particular. It appears a few resent such a person the likes of me and responded by attacking not only what I write, but even how I write. They wish to control the tone and activity on this site to merge with their preconceived ideas of how this site should operated and what may be spoken about and how it may be spoken about. I ask that you communicate with these people and advise them I will not tolerate their anger motivated diatribe towards me. They will not close my mouth from telling fellow audiophiles the truth about a given subject raised in a thread and that until informed otherwise, as long as I obey the rules of this website which includes not insulting of others, and use profanity (which they have and I have not) that free speech is fostered in these pages.

Finally, I did call one poster a bully. He was the one that used implied profanity to express himself which I find unnecessary and said so in so many words. He responded in a defensive and unkindly manner. After carefully reading what he had to say about justifying his profanity and a few unkind words for me, I deemed him to be what he is, a "bully". A bully insist on doing something wrong to others for their own ego recognition or gain. They verbally or physically beat up the defenseless, put down the meek and humble, disrespect truth and truth tellers and force their will upon others. Now, sir, read the posts and judge for yourself. Doing so, I think you will agree, this person is a bully and I also think you will agree that most people do not like a bully and that's what I told him. A bully likes to think they are liked and when told they are not liked, they go ballistic. I was not surprised to see is response to my post which was not friendly.

Finally, I enjoy being on several audio and video websites which I participate, learn and share what I know in. I have never, ever been disapproved of by any poster or site manager. May I suggest you read the posts to and from me on this website, in this thread with a neutral posture and then send your MDP response to them regarding what they said to me.

I look forward to you exercising fairness regarding this issue.

Most sincerely, Dr. Robert G. Dean, Ph.D., C.Hth. (or doc for short).

Well goodness Doc, why didn't you just come out and say that before. No reason to be so shy. I am sorry for being such a rotten fella. Actually I guess I was a rotten bunch of fellas cuz the long list of guys you refer to in the first 4 or 5 paragraphs were all me (sept for a couple of comments by Zero). I promise to try to be a better audiophile.

Doc - let's see your "hi-fi rig", in the form of a picture or a video. I'm what you'd call an "average audiophile" and cannot wait to be shown the truth.

Oh c'mon kzh you silly goose, its invisible. Reflected photons undermine measurable sound wave coherency and thus are a sonic albatross worn only by the ill informed. You are showing your obvious submission to marketing spin. Also, your ego is apparently bruised because you realize you bought your system with no invisibility cloak and now Harry Potter is sold out. Get with it dude.

Came across this and your amazing videos on the Hawk! How different are the current models? I'm in love with my friends original version from when they were first introduced!

Any help is appreciated!
