I will admit I know very little about this fellow running for the Senate in Michigan and wouldn’t in any event, have any interest in getting into a debate about the Senate race in Michigan. I will reiterate my agreement with what I thought was your original point. If you are in the business of selling something and you think the world can’t live without a recitation of your political views, social media is a very enticing form of rat poison. I think your post makes the point very well, when you do that and your potential customers are watching you are going to have fewer potential customers. Maybe Mr. Gordon didn’t think of that or maybe he doesn’t care, that’s his business and no one would suggest that he doesn’t have a right to say whatever he wants.
It doesn’t really matter which side you are on there’s a big part of the country that vehemently disagrees with you. Nobody is going to change their mind because of what they read on Facebook- or a form like this one.. So, I agree with what I thought was your point- from a business standpoint, particularly these days, mixing politics with selling is a dubious proposition.
I can speak for me and maybe even go out on a limb a little bit and suggest that most others probably feel the same way. I’m interested in what people on this Audio forum think about Audio, what their experiences are and what might be learned from them. I don’t give a damn about their political views. I’m quite sure they don’t give a damn about mine. And I’m going to go out on a limb and suggest that that’s true of most of the people engaged in discussions about Audio.
Socialists to the left of me fascists to the right and I’m stuck in the middle with…, well hell, there’s almost nobody left in the middle. Just a little music humor. I know, very little.
