Put another way, it would be like you paying an additional 7-10 euro each time you fill your tank when every other province in your country doesn't...with the promise of better roads which never happens. Isn't the Netherlands a HUGE natural gas producer with a petroleum refining industry thats the envy of the EU? with a population of just 18 mil, your energy costs and petrol should be nearly free! lol

The EU is hosed like Hogan's goat.

Do you not understand the condition CA is in?? I believe my own eyes and ears. Let other people read the article and tell us how brilliant it is.
I'm very sure I don't understand California's condition! Its a big state and I don't live there.

However, your second sentence above seems in contradiction to the 3rd. FWIW Dept.: when someone is willing to contradict themselves in this manner, its often because they are trying to make another person 'wrong' rather than actually deal with the subject whatever it might be.

Or its possible you didn't consider that your words could be easily interpreted in a manner other than what you had in mind.

Please do your homework better. The gas field is closed.

They closed it down in 2023/2024 because they were afraid the fracking was causing earthquakes. Somehow I doubt it's a coincidence that the Netherlands are balls deep into climate change and they donated $2.6B in 2023 to projects aimed at preventing climate change and they shut down the gas field.

I believe my words can be twisted to fit someone's narrative.

Thank you for saying you don't understand California condition. I am constantly amazed by how many people love to spout off about California without having even a small clue about California. California is the 4th largest economy in the world, and outpaced the US as a whole by a large margin. California could easily survive on their own and they actually pay more to central/mid-west states than any other state. They are the single biggest giving state in the country versus those that actually take from the federal budget (the central/mid-west states). They are also the number one producer of food in the country. Their population is larger than the entire swath of central states combined. It would be nice if people have a small clue about that of which they speak.

OK, got it. California is big, and so are their issues. Difficult to ignore. When I was there, a long time ago, California was the envy of the free world. Now, not so much.

The issues are simple. What's difficult is the fact the left likes to pretend the solutions are difficult that way they never need to deal with them. If the issues were resolved they couldn't keep fleecing the taxpayers so they could line their pockets with stolen money through NGO's and fake social groups and causes.

Remember how much we were told solving the border invasion was complex and difficult and could only be done with new laws and would take years to fix? What a lie. That got fixed in literally one week.

The 'difficulty' is the left lives in an alternate reality and most suffer from the medical condition Randy displayed earlier.

Frankly, it is none of your business.

But so you know and to avoid snarky reply, our son lives in Wichita, and for our finances. We were able to buy our new house outright in Kansas, we both wanted the four seasons that we both grew up in (me Binghamton, her NC). We loved almost everything about were we lived in California, but because we both came from working class parents and worked very hard and built ourselves a good living (me a Software Engineer her a Hospice Nurse). We were not born with a silver spoon (unlike many in this hobby), and we wanted to be able to afford to retire on our savings.

I do know why you left CA Randy. You told everyone before. I just found it odd you would post how great the state of CA is and yet you couldn't afford to live there after you retired.

And speaking of snarky, how do you know many in this hobby were born with a silver spoon vice they were successful in their careers and earned everything they have?

You probably chose the wrong forum to play the “silver spoon” card as most of the forum members I’ve met definitely did not grow up rich. I for one grew up in a middle class family in central Illinois.

I do feel sorry for you not being able to stay and live where you loved but can’t afford. That sucks.

Where in IL if you don't mind? I lived in Jacksonville for several years in the later 70's.
