TAD CR-1's with the JOB 225 - I am impressed and in disbelief ....

That's absurd! 10 days and no response? I wish you luck and hope you get all your money back.

Thanks, Mike--just to clarify, JOB/Goldmund did respond to my first few emails, but I haven't heard from them in four and a half days. Instead of taking action to correct the problem, they've been asking about my accompanying equipment, cables, electrical outlets, etc. My other equipment is fine, my electricity is fine, and my cables are top-notch. The amp I got is a lemon. So much for Swiss craftsmanship.

Oh I hate that! It really bothers me when they try to blame everything else but their lemon of a product! Well, good luck! I hope you get taken care of.

I received an apologetic (but odd) response from JOB/Goldmund this evening:

Sir

To our knowledge replacement amplifier has already been prepared. The factory in Switzerland was supposed to send you the details for shipping back the amp that you currently have

sorry if the communication did not work properly
regards
JOB

When I receive the amplifier, I'll give a final report. I wonder if JOB/Goldmund saw my posts on AudioShark.

I'd like to think we have "some" influence around here. Good luck with the new/replacement unit.

I'd love a matching preamp for mine. I'm sure they could make a nice one.

I am not sure, maybe I got lucky, but my amp is not giving me any trouble. I am happy with it. I let a friend borrow it and I hope I get it back.

I seem to be one of a half dozen users of this amp having the same problem. Perhaps there has been a bad batch of these amps.

One of half a dozen from where?

These users are all in the U.S., and they started posting about the problem on WBF and AudioAsylum last weekend. I've been in contact with several of them, and we've experienced exactly the same problem.

Fortunately for us, Goldmund is taking action to remedy the problem. My amp has already left Switzerland and should arrive tomorrow. I'll post an update.

I received my modified amp from Goldmund today.

The hum is gone.

I'm in concurrence with Joeinid on the JOB 225. It sounds very, very impressive.

And congratulations to Goldmund for (i) acknowledging and fixing the problem and (ii) returning my amp to me (in Massachusetts) from Switzerland two business days after I sent it.

Jon,

I'm so happy for you. This amp is AMAZING! I could easily have it as an only amp in my stable. I can't wait to try it on my incoming SF Evolutions. I think it will be a killer combo.
