Has anyone compared Stillpoints to Symposium Rollerblock Jrs?

I have a few sets of the Rollerblocks. They did a fair job of cleaning up bass notes and allowing more bass texture to be heard. However, they tipped the highs a bit too much for my tastes and removed a bit too much meat from my bass. Of course this is all system dependent and in some systems I'd imagine this is exactly what one might want.

From what I've gathered, the Stillpoints aren't supposed to have those traits. Obviously I'm not entirely convinced since I've yet to order them but I'm awfully curious to try them out.

That's the big difference with Stillpoints, they do not interfere with the sound of your system. The gear sounds as it should from the start.

Stillpoints does not add or remove any specific sound.

Hey Nelson, the floor of my soon-to-be listening room is finished with an antique-birch manufactured hardwood (really just a fancy plywood with veneer) that has a "hand scraped" faux surface. The hand scrape finish makes the floor surface uneven, there are shallow valleys and broad ridges so something like an Ultra 5 might not sit 100% in contact with the floor, i.e. there may be a wee-bit of space at some point beneath the floor and the Ultra5. Do Stillpoints require solid contact all along the bottom surface, or do you think this will be a non-issue?

thats very cool

I didn't know you could order them like that.

I am very curious but not entirely convinced. I did like the Nordost Demo of a similar product at RMAF.

Do we have any dealers for these products here on AS?

I am very curious but not entirely convinced.

I feel the same way.

I just read comments on another forum by an X2 owner who installed Ultra 5's today.

He says he heard improvements in the bass/mid bass in his listening room which is located on the second floor of his home.

I can understand this improvement, but I don't think you'd get similar results with speakers on a concrete floor.

The only way to really know is find a dealer that will demo the product to you in your listening room. It changes the sound for sure but how you perceive that change will depend on your taste.
