SR HFTs

I heard on another forum that they also have a black colored version that acts as a bass trap. Seriously.

My guess is he/she was referring to the FEQ. It's a black box that sits between your speakers. It's not a bass trap but it augments/alters the bass notes a bit. I've found it works very well coupled with the HFTs.

The Black Hole is not a black colored version of the HFT.

It's a new product that can be seen in the picture below on the floor next to a FEQ:

Paul:

It's true that when we, as consumers, hear a difference we almost always assume that, if we decide to purchase, that it's a change for the better. I really doubt it, but, if someone dropped some of my earlier gear into my system I may think that it sounds better than what I currently have. I choose to be blind to this possibility :P.

As for the science, I've gone too far to the dark side to ever come back. The emotions I feel while listening tell me I'm doing just fine.

PS: Love that song. Reminds me of Video 22 and MTV as a kid.

Yes, I have great memories of it too (spring break Fort Lauderdale 1983).

At the end of the day it all about state of mind; you have a phenomenal system that I am sure takes you where ever you want to go!

As you too will have once you get rid of all those pesky TBDs :eyebrow:. Assembly and tinkering to get things right is, IMO, more than half the fun. The fruits are just that. You, my friend, have a ton of playing left to do.

We were out of town for the past week so no listening has been done for some time. I will give the HFT's a couple more weeks before I removed them to see if I can hear any differences.

Hello.
Back from the High End show in Munich.
Ted and Peter where there from SR to show their different devices.
They showed for example what the HFT's sounded on-off and on again, on the speakers.
they also showed similar tests with the other products.
The changes is not subtile. I'm hooked.
Can't wait to try the red ones in my gear and in my fuusebox.
Peter told me that the HFT's do wonders in the car.
I wont try that. Afraid to.

Tero,

Sorry for the redundancy but in your lengthy time with the designers did you get any scientific or logical explanation (of any kind) for this improved performance?

That review is so ludicrous, I almost sent Jeff Fritz a note about it. He must have 100k in SR cables and "gear" in that modest system. I'd love to tell that guy to take all of it out, replace with some well made copper ICs and speaker cables (Cardas, Kimber, Zu, whatever) and report back. He could own Sonjas with just his cabling bill.

Ted Denney literally has a cable, box, and component to sell you for every connection in your system- all of it always better. And with no measurements for any of the results of his room "treatments" which is the one area its easiest to do. I respected the master coupler back in the day, but today's company isn't the same.

Their explanation is like the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle.

The more they concoct to explain how their stuff works, the more the bull$h!t flies.

Perhaps Keith thinks "Joe's next speaker poll" and "Paul's Tannoys" have grown too long in the tooth :sigh:.

With that said, the review offers little more than marketing for Synergistic.
