The Swedish team never impressed me the whole tournament. Their goalie however was superb.

Gold for the girls, gold for the guys. Canada's world hockey dominance remains.

...and to that snotty writer, Kevin Oklobzija who said Canada wouldn't repeat and would only get bronze - how you like them apples?

(Men's hockey predictions | Q)
Guy probably can't skate.

I just want to say a small thought here.

In regards to the thread about the StillPoints: NEVER I had any negative thought regarding a product that I don't even have!
I was simply friendly and humorist regarding the Ultra 5's price, and that is all there is to it.
I wish I could afford them myself, but my speakers cost way less than them to begin with.
The StillPoint Ultra 5's; eight for $6,000 (MSRP); that is a lot of money to put under a pair of speakers, no matter how you cut it.
* Would be super cool if some speaker's manufacturers would include them with some of their hi-end speakers.

I just wanted you to know what truly is in my heart and that in no way, shape and form, I wanted to negate people's enjoyment and ownership. ...Furthermore, I wish that I didn't have that major financial downfall in my life, so that me too I could afford to buy them. ...And so many more very nice toys that many members here own.
I feel 'dislodged' @ times, out-of-place, because I cannot afford what many people here can. ...And so I cannot experience all the good sound improvement possible when money is available aplenty enough.

If some members here thought that I was negative, jealous, malicious, or anything else bad; please forgive me because this is not what's in my heart.

I see this as a positive lesson for me at being more considerate going forward. I apologize, I respect everyone's sensitivity.
Thanks for listening.

I love you all very much so,
Bob

I think I'm going to go outside in my yard and hug a tree after reading this post.

Good idea Mark, you just do that. ...And hug another one for me.

Nobody is going to stop you; not even if you go for a very long walk in the forest.

Do you miss me?

* Copy that post you just quoted and put it under your pillow, so that when you go to bed at night you can always reread it.
...And share that love with all your friends.

The Windows 8.1 Start menu is a half assed Rt Click menu. Windows 9 is not due out until March 2015.

There are several 3rd party apps to bring back the normal Start Menu and other items. I use Classic Shell, a free app that you can choose Classic, XP, or Win 7 Start Menu. It also sets your IE view back to what you may have been used to.

That's what I had heard. How sad is it when you need a third party UI just to use your OS? I'm just shaking my head. Reminds me all too well of my MS days. Phew....glad to be beyond that. I want my computer to be like my toaster, not like a carburetor rebuild. It should be simple and just work. Jobs got that.

I hate * also, but as I figure out more of it, I get what they were trying to do. They had hopes of 8 working on every item from Phone - Tablet - Notepad - Laptop - Touch Screen - and Desktop PCs. Didn't work out too well and they cannot really fix 8 or 8.1 to do it all. The main reason behind eliminating the Start Menu was that they assumed everything was going to be done by touch. Bad planning and lousy foresight.

With Classic Shell, everything but Apps work like they used to. When running any Apps, you have to drag from top to bottom bar to close, or utilize standard Windows Keyboard shortcuts like Alt+F4 to close. All other Keyboard shortcuts still work like they always did from Windows 3.1.

Brian - I do hope Windows 9 works well. Simply, there is software I like that you can only get on a Windows PC. I may dig up my old Windows XP disk and just install it on my Mac with bootcamp.

Mike,

When I got 2 new PCs last month, one for my wife's dying XP box, and one for me to learn it all and have a better than 10 y/o self built box, I did not look up to see if my older printers would work with 8. My Laser 1200 happened to work, but our Color Deskjet 722c that my wife uses to make Custom Cards did not work. After 2-3 weeks of trying many things, I ended up using a Network Print Server and had to install VMWare Workstation and create an XP Virtual Machine. If you get an Enterprise version of 8, you can use XPmode. It also turned out that the software my wife uses was also not compatible with 8. So for my wife to make cards on a Windows 8 box, she has to fire up an XP Virtual Machine and run Printmaster from there along with being able to print to the older color printer.

Strangest thread ever... How many topics here? The leading one I have yet to figure out. Philosophy maybe? Seemed for a moment it had degenerated, as all conversations do, to sex or farts, but now there is a computer operating system vein. Very odd!
