You poor guy... :P

Well,,,this has been an interesting thread to read..glad it invariably turned to sex, the common ground for all !!! LOL

Funny thought, about speaking your heart. In so many ways we are internet persona's - not always a 100% true reflection of who we are. Just aspects of the true self. Does it sometimes seem like 'that' is who we are? Is it close? Perhaps. But that is the beautiful thing about people. To quote donkey in Shrek "We are like an onion". Many layers.

I can be the sweetest helpful guy on the boards (not just here) or I have been known to be a dick (gasp..not Rob). So reading a post on head-fi where I feel compelled to trash someone is not indicative of who I am. In real life, in person, I would probably be a bit softer. Maybe. Sometimes. LOL

But the bottom line is, we can't let our feelings get hurt here nor hold things. Mike even said he is always open to learn every day..so I will endeavor to teach him the merits of Microsoft products (Mike..I just had to !!! ).

Anyway, glad you guys are here. This is not THE MOST ACTIVE site on the net, but it is certainly the most comfortable...no mean spirits...

Love and hugs...Rob (alright..get off me now..yuck)

Rob - what is the ETA on Windows 9? I do need (not want) a Windows computer. I just can't stomach Windows 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, wherever we are now. I'm hopeful for Windows 9. Will it have a Start button? :)

Windows 8.1 has a start button (see below ) ...9 is supposed to be very different from what I hear...but really...working with it..Windows 8 desktop (to me) is no different than Windows 7. Same icons, office products, internet, applications, etc. The only benefit of the metro stuff ? If you want to play games, see news, Netflix, etc...those kinds of apps in a specific way. But if you never ever went to the tiles (I think 9 lets you turn it off) you would be working with windows 7. So is there any difference ?

Yes. For example, connecting wi-fi, searching, etc. all gets done on the right hand side of the screen. Move the mouse over and charms bar appears . Just makes some things handy. Touch screen is not needed at all (in fact, I am not fond of it except on a tablet). even then, I am a mouse and keyboard guy...lol

One of the cool things I like is when I use two monitors. That has been around for years, right ? But one of the biggest pains in earlier releases was when you wanted a spreadsheet on one window and another in the other - so you can compare, copy, pastes. etc. Having two open in different screens was a pain. Same with explorer. wherever you dragged it, they all went.

With windows 8 and the new office, I can watch Netflix on one, surf the net on the other. Open two spreadsheets (or multiple ) and drag what I want to where I want so I can easily compare.

Anyway, some pics...so, my desktop, me typing this post and right click the start button, cursor move to the right for access

Me; coffee, bacon, eggs & hash browns with toasts (French bread) and cheese (French camembert, or swiss, or cheddar) and French liver/pepper pate. ...When I feel lazy cereals with fruits (diced).

Under my PC; squash balls. ...Less vibrations. ...It's a desktop.

See, simple questions with simple answers; nothing else. ...Not even an emoticon. ...The power of Internet's free interpretation.

It's Sunday morning, we woke up & had a shag. The dog was barking because he was jealous as he watched from the bedroom door. The town valley festival is down the road. The roads are blocked off for the festival & food stalls are setup in the park. A bright sunny day to go for a walk, enjoy some lunch & have a tasting with a few drinks & listen to the live bands playing.
