Siltech Royal Signature Series

Steve, I've been told about 30% step up to the Princess & after that it slows down dramatically further up the line.

Yes, cost/performance ratios goes up significantly more than performance increments alone. Queen performance at 5% above Princess. Then Empress, Empress Crown, Empress Double Crown, Triple Crown. An opinion on those performance gain increments would be interesting information.

Given that approx. performance gain on i770, the Princess should easily outperform Wireworld Platinum Eclipse. My WW PE XLR gets demoted to Tuner source interconnect. That is still honourable for the very beautiful, dynamic and musically rich sounding Studer A726. I've never heard radio so good. Australia is lucky to still have high quality FM broadcasting. Perhaps we can thank the DAB+ debacle for that after all!

Thanks guys, I'm good with my order now.

I can get away with 1.5m lengths. So with 4 sets of Princess and 1 Golden Ridge, that should hopefully put me into remission for awhile. :exciting:

It better :D but.... with those Ruby Mountains already in the system that would just leaves a Siltech speaker cable void :) to better the WW Platinums I would suspect the Kings would beat them however the Prince might very well do it too ;)

Rod...Yes you are discerningly sharp to point that out. Sure would like to consider swapping them out with Siltech Kings to complete the chain. If I could get a decent trade on them, I may consider it down the track, otherwise it ain't going to happen. When it comes to the new Platinum G7s, they are quite an exceptionally constructed loudspeaker cable.

The close-up pics in your system thread show just how well they are constructed and how heavy the wire gauge is. Given the rabid WW fan base out there if you ever put them up for sale I suspect you would have no issues selling them.

Steve - congrats! I think I would be afraid to find out just how good the Queen, Empress, Empress Crown and Empress Double Crown cables are. My Prince/Princess cables are incredible and you know what, the 770i's, once they get broken in (I found they took longer to break in than the Prince/Princess), are also excellent. I would say 75%-80% of Prince/Princess. But there is NO DOUBT that the Prince/Princess is much better.

You know, Siltech/Crystal are very special. I've heard a lot of cables in my system and nothing - NOTHING - does what they do. This isn't a copper vs copper or copper vs silver or even hybrid copper/silver vs hybrid copper/silver comparison. The gold/silver metallurgy and just the right amounts of both is truly unique.

I hope one day to have all Prince/Princess in the system. But alas...that will be a while before funds permit.

Stay tuned for my impressions. I've had a few cables in my setup to compare fairly. Some never stayed, others will be redeployed elsewhere. Eg. HT side.

I am patient enough to put the Siltech onto the cable burner for 1-2 weeks before they go in though. :dancing:

Steve, put them in first & then burn them in. That way it'll give you a before & after comparison & also give you system a chance to settle in between, if you're interested in the difference of course.....

i thought i might chime in here with a funny anecdote.... a few months before xmas i got a new triple crown interconnect and placed into my system ( vitus and marten). It sounded great straight away .... 2 days ago i picked up a whole loom of cables for my living room TV system. ICs were Siltech Classic Anniversary 330, SC was explorer 90L and PC were Crystal reference with Furutech Gold plugs ....

as i installed these cables into a Sonus Faber based system i was immediately struck by and edgy overly bright top end, forward midrange and super strong bottom end .... i was a bit shaken .....

its been 4 days nows and its sounds much much better and I'm happy with the results. But i thought it was funny that the Triple Crown in my set up sounded great straight out of the box - pouch

DANG! Triple Crown, you are in the big time there, congrats! Any pics? These are items rarely seen outside of publication reviews.

It's nice to hear how your Classics settled in along with the others. This is good to know as I'm about to add a long run of 330i's to my system so if at 1st things sound off I know given time they'll come into their own.

Royal Signature Prince speaker cables. I am so shit scared to play vinyl at the mo. I mean if it sounds this good without listening to my table, I'm really scared I'm going to go on Amazon & buy like a shitload of vinyl......:victory::victory::boing::boing::what::what::olga:

Very nice, can't wait to eventually get mine. Did you post any pics that I may have missed?

I've been thinking some more :) So now that I have pulled the trigger on a Classic Anniversary set of cables for my surrounds, what do guys think, does it make sense to actually go all the way up to Prince for the speaker cables for my 802D2's or because I'm only using 330i's would much of what the Prince has to offer be wasted because I'm not supplying the 7B-SST2's a signal from a pair of Princess cables like I will definitely be doing for my 28B-SST2's? I'll definitely do Prince for my 800D2's, perhaps even break the bank and go for Kings, who knows :)

Congrats Rod. I think Classic series is amazing for surrounds. You should see what I wired my surrounds with! LOL. Come on a spool of 100 feet!

No pics of the cables Rod, just the boxes.... ;)

Wow, I thought I had the longest Siltech run ever at 14m :) Did you just get a full spool and then start cutting and terminating the ends yourself to get your desired lengths or you actually have an actual 100' single run, or I guess pair for surrounds?

No, no, I'm not much of a movie/HT guy. I bought cheapie wire for my cheapie surrounds.

Only my 2 channel systems get the good stuff.

Ah gotcha!

I should say, never underestimate the experience of either discrete multi-channel music or even stereo using matrix processing. If I wasn't so amazed at what this sounds like I would be like most and not put much money into the center, surrounds, associated equipment and cabling.

Rod...I get what you are saying. I put some effort in also.

The HT side gets more hours for day to day cable etc, so I have put out some decent cable on that side too to get the most out of it. As I use HT passthru to the McIntosh, that signal will also go through the new Siltech Princess.

Rear surrounds got a German made silver over OFC 12Awg X 4 core bi-wire bulk cable that is Teflon coated, double insulated and braided with Techflex Flexo Conductive. The termination ends were wrapped in Teflon and sleeved with cable pants. The Furutech bananas are silicon sealed. The braided cable is also wrapped in Techflex F6 quiet cloth to assist with vibration absorption.

You are quite good at building your own cables there Steve, impressive, very tidy and clean assembly.
