Shunyata power cables

Shunyata are at the top for sure Mike and that is what ARC used to use exclusively in house and when demoing their products at shows. However, they have been replaced by PCs from Sain (read the Stereophile Ref 150 review). Something to consider and maybe try out in a shoot out against Shunyata. I am still using Shunyata Python PC and Hydra conditioner, so I am a fan of Shunyata.

Mike, As you know, I've tried all of the Zitrons. I would suggest using Anacondas only on power amps and a conditioner if you use one. I'd suggest Pythons for preamps and maybe a CD/DAC. You can get very good results with Cobras on low current items like tuners etc. One thing to be VERY aware of. The break in process for the Annacondas is BRUTAL. I really think the Python is the sweet spot of the line. Let us know!

Will do. I blew my PC budget on a new TT and cart. :)

I agree, I have the Zitron/Python speaker cable, and it's amazing !!

Mike, I've been trying to tell you................Shunyata Rules !!!!!!

When budget permits, I'm all in. Next up is the outlets. I'd like to hear from folks who have upgraded their AC outlets to audiophile quality. MIT? Shunyata? Furutech? Etc.

You know I'm a MIT guy , all the way.
Do you want the Link of my YouTube
MIT Zduplex test ?

I'm using the Shunyata outlets and yes they make a positive improvement. But, I have not compared them to the other ones plus I've never heard anything bad about the other outlets.

Mike,

I ordered Furutechs from Jeff for the new room. Haven't installed them yet, but here's PFO's feedback on them.

Stereophile had a more lukewarm reception to them so as usu, YMMV.

I added the Shunyata outlet to my system, but since it was part of a major upgrade (Triton, and 5 Ztron power cables) I can't comment on any improvement attributible to it. However, it is a secure outlet, and really grabs the plug. The whole upgrade was like getting better gear it was such a great improvement.

The easiest way to break in a power cord is to get an adaptor from Music Direct and connect it to a refrigerator for a month or so.

You can also get them from amazon for 1/3 the price. The adapters are a must when playing around power cords because of the break-in time periods.

High-end audio electronic manufacturers should always recommend (or supply) the perfect interconnects (or power cables, or speaker cables) with their products.

Not good for their business? ...Good for the customers?

________________

Charlie: I just bought a new pair of interconnects ("Aqua Via") today at half price; I only paid $22,000.

Frank: I've just heard that the new "Sprinklers" interconnects are even better for only $11,000/pair (1 meter).

Charlie: Mmmm, I'd better get my act together.

I have some doubts. Easiest but not very efficient. The refrigerator works on 50Hz (very few cycle transitions per second) and has a very low duty cycle as it is non operating most of the time. I think that a good cable cooker, working at higher variable frequency with a moderate current continuously will do a better job. But cable burn-in is black magic and I have no prove of my belief.

Mike, any ETA on your PC's?

Still TBD. I'm waiting on a few things to sell first. I'm going to be testing some Tara Labs PC's next week. My dealer says they better the Shunyata's (he sells both) and they are a fraction of the cost. Failing that, I want to try Jeff's power cable porn. :D

I've only placed one order with Jeff and talked to him only a few times but after seeing the kind of service he delivers, I would give him my business any day. I would be very interested in how his cables compare to the bigger name ones.
