Shunyata power cables

I've only placed one order with Jeff and talked to him only a few times but after seeing the kind of service he delivers, I would give him my business any day. I would be very interested in how his cables compare to the bigger name ones.

I know this is going to sound crazy, but I sold 9 WW Silver Electra PC's last week. Pulled them all from my system and replaced them with the stock PC's. And guess what? My system has never sounded better!

Your scaring me Mike!
I got goose-bumps when I read that!:shocking:

Basically, you are saying WW Silver Electra power cords suck, at least in your system. Which is fine. Wait until you add Shunyata Ztron cables. You will be amazed at how much better it is.

I have the regular old WW Eclipse downstairs and they are great. Maybe its just the silver I don't like - even subconsciously! I've just never liked silver anything on my system. The regular WW Eclipse (all copper) sound really good. PC's, IC's and Sp cables.

Hi Mike, As usual. I agree with you I had the same WW power cords a few years ago. Snake oil. I was totally underwhelmed. I do think you'll like the Shunyatas. Take them for a test drive.

Speaking of stock cords ... Having heard nothing but raves for Ztron's, expectations were high when I borrowed a Python to try with Ref5SE. Not a huge improvement over stock to my ears. Plugged into an Audience power conditioner (which may not offer best synergy) as well as directly into wall -- well, a PSAudio Power Port Premier socket (which, again, may not offer best synergy). Rest of gear: Emm DAC2X/TSDX, Classe 600M's, Revel Salon2, Audience AU 24e loom. Ded'd 20a circuits, isolated country home -- may not be enough crap on the lines for power products to make that much of a difference? Anyone else ever plugged a Shunyata into an Audience?

Salon 2's and CAM-600's? Must be great! I know MDP will be happy!

How do you like the CA M600/Salon 2 combination ?

I can relate...

Started with the DS450/LS27 combo. Everything very nice, plenty of dynamics, but soundstage, while deep, never went wider than the speakers, like listening down a tunnel. Toe-in or distance between speaks had little effect. Hooked up the 600s, without making any other changes to speaker orientation, etc., and immediately had wider soundstage. Sounded great out of the box, not a huge change during break-in. Great definition, limitless energy, even in large 23x31 room.

Glad you're happy !! I'm just as thrilled as you, it's an amazing combination. I personally did hear a significant change after about 500 hours, the amps seemed to develop a slight sweetness to them. I'm done .........at least with amps, for quite awhile !!

Sorry, didn't hit "reply with quote" to your question so that last post seemed a little random. Have you ever tried bi-wiring with separate wires from the upper and lower amp outs? I tried two 6' cords but didn't hear any benefit compared to single pair with stock jumpers. [btw, how do I do a carriage return on these posts?] Parker

I am using Shunyata King Cobra CX for most of my components and I can't get a better sound with anything else. I've bought a few Python Zitron's but I can't say they are in any way better then the Kings. Shunyata says the Zitron technology is cumulative. In other words, the more zitron cords you use the more they build on each other. I am wondering if anyone has experience with this on a system.

My system starts with the two outlet plug in Audience SE power conditioner feeding a PS Audio Power Supply through a Shunyata CX in case the power ever goes down. From there I connect Shunyata King Cobra CX, Python Zitron and PS Audio AC-12 power cords to various components. I've got the Kings in the amps and the python Zitrons on the receiver and DAC. The PS Audio AC-12 feeds the Oppo 103, and a Valhalla 1 power cord feeds the phono pre-amp. I'd love to hear thoughts about mixing these four brands of power cord with an Audience conditioner feed. Blending cables together is an art and there is no data anythere to help.

As I switched my cables from the Anaconda CX's to the Anaconda Zitron it did seem like the later cables made more of a difference than the first ones. At the time I hadn't heard that the Zitron tech was cumulative so I wasn't expecting it at all. I was pleasantly surprised.
