My best value of show winner. $5950/pair. Holographic. Incredible midrange. Super efficient at 97db. Goes down to 20hz. Bass is tight and fast. Highs are detailed without sounding bright. Very musical. Must be biamped.

Emerald Physics CS2.3mk2.

Wow!

I thought for a minute she (Debby from Wilson) was a booth babe. I guess I'm right anyway! Hi Debby.

Big +1. A very musical speaker. Very enjoyable visit. I also liked the Bricasti DAC in this room.

I agree. Mike - did you hear the Alexia's with VTL or Doshi? The Doshi/Alexia room is much better. Its on the ground floor - go past all the records and stuff - and it's the last room on the right - just before the big open/atrium area.

The VTL amps are far too extended in the highs for my tastes. Beautiful amps - but not for me. In that room, they reminded me of some very bright sounding Class A/B amps - and certainly not tube like. Many many people were saying the same thing.

The Doshi was better - but still the match for the Alexia's are the D'Agostinos IMO. I would love to try some VAC amps on them though.

Zellaton CH Precision room was superb. Went back several times today. Gideon has assembled an incredible system that has incredible resolution and musicality, and impressively at low volumes. I liked the vinyl source primarily running through a trinity phono pre and then through the robert koda 10 pre and then into CH precision amps to zellaton speakers. Wish I was in the market for a phono pre of this level!

Volti also very good again this aft.

Cessaro horns with Tron just rocked this aft to ACDC, Pink Floyd and Neil Young. No coffee needed! The sound was simply amazing. These speakers will be heading to Jeff Catalano's loft after the show and I'm sure n that space (with higher ceilings) they will have room to really breathe. Even here in a hotel, I think this was one of my top 3 rooms.

Great updates, gentlemen. Thank you!

Mike, how did Vitus sound? What were they driving?

Great feedback!

Thnx Mike for such great coverage. This is very time consuming just listening. With the full photo shoot even more exhausting. Excited to hear your winners, dissappointments and surprises. Any new combos heard on D3? Any chance to listen at Gideon's Zellaton room?

Nick

Mike, thank you so much for such great pics and explanations. you put an awful lot of effort into this for us to all see, is appreciated.
your golden ear tell me to go hear emerald!!! i will.
that zesto gear is beautiful. its like sound room art sculptures, i need to hear that too.

Mike,

Just want to echo the thanks of others. Nice job to get so much photographed. Not too much hunger pain I hope?

Out of interest, did the Raidho room comment in why they had granite under the speakers?

Thank you Kiwi. Yes, they said the granite made them sound less boomy. The Raidho/Rowland room was excellent sounding. Blackest backgrounds.
