I think Gov. Newsom has done a great job in California. He was the first to shut down the state thereby saving countless lives. He has brought in good people to oversee the shut downs and the roll out of the vaccines. For his troubles, he will undoubtedly be re-called--

I agree. I live in CA and watched his press briefings at noon. He acknowledged the threats and took positive action. That angered many deniers.

Not believing in masks isn’t like not believing in god or not believing in marriage. It’s like saying I don’t believe in drinking water. It takes a special kind of lunacy and idiocy.
Not wearing a mask in public is like connecting a hose to the exhaust pipe of your car and sticking the hose into the ventilation system of some stranger’s home. The mask is as much or more about protecting others and society than protecting oneself.

My office manager and receptionist went early this morning and got the rapid test. They were notified 2 hours later that both were clean. There were no rapid tests available in Springhill so I got the standard one which takes about 48 hours to get the results. It's fairly simple to get tested. You pick either Walgreens or CVS and you schedule a time. You go through the drive thru, they give you a kit and instructions, you swab your own nose and you drop it in the collection box. Then they notify you via email your results. Hey, at least my office is not shut down so we at least we can get reports and stuff out. The field is going to be dead for at least a day or two and schedules pushed back the same amount of time until everybody's results come back. It just blows the 1st part of the week for us and the folks who depend on us. Thanks for listening but I have a tear in my beer....lol.

My wife and I got our 2nd Moderna shot on March 15th, ... so tomorrow (the 29th), ... we will be out 2 weeks. Hopefully, we will have a high level of immunity, but we will maintain our vigilance because we are not sure how effective the shot is against the South African and Brazilian variants, ... which are spreading.

We both had strong reactions 3 hours after the 2nd shot, which included sore arms. We both felt very under-the-weather and were very tired. The reactions lasted until late the next afternoon/early evening the next day (the 16th). It was all behind us when we woke up the morning of the 17th.

Unless one's doctor advises against the vaccine for a good medical reason, I think it is both personally and socially a good idea to get vaccinated. Until the world achieves herd immunity, we will be dealing with this nightmare for years to come.

Let me add a post-script to my last post. On February 14th, my 1st cousin passed away from COVID. He was 59 years old with no overt co-morbidities that I know about. COVID cut through him in 3 weeks, totally destroying his lungs. It was very painful for me to attend his funeral via ZOOM and watch his 89 year old mother bury her 59 year old son. Total nightmare!!

It seems like COVID has unpredictable effects on people, sometimes even young and otherwise healthy people.

So sorry for your loss.

I was just trying to pay your State a compliment, but I’d still take DeSantis over Ige.

Frustrating that the deniers seem to have enough clout to get the recall effort on the ballot. In addition, I personally find their behavior repugnant when it comes to disrespecting guidelines and other measures that the Governor has passed in order to try and mitigate the number of deaths in the state.

Very sorry for your loss, parents shouldn't have to bury their children.

There was a time not long ago that Florida was one of the worst (perhaps the worst!) hit states for death rate in the country...
People have a short memory. Personally, I think DeSantis' record speaks for itself...and to me it is an utter disgrace!

No Politics DaveyF. Closing the thread.
