When it comes to speaker cables, interconnects and such, audiophiles are pretty opinionated. Ask an audiophile about their favorite power cord and you tend to get a glazed look. Over the years, I've found most audiophiles use a real hodgepodge of power cables. Rarely do I see stock cords in friends systems, but I can't say never. I see some of this and some of that....but there doesn't seem to be a definitive leader.

I use Ansuz D power cords on my preamp and amps. I use Shunyata Alpha Analog on my phonostage. I use Shunyata Alpha Digital on my Lumin.

I've heard good things about Kubala-Sosna, Nordost, Stealth, etc.

What do you use? What has made the biggest difference in your system?

At the risk of getting banished from all things audiophile....

12AWG- Belden 83803 - shielded cable with Marinco, Wattgate or Furutech connectors depending on need.
14AWG- Belden 19364 - shielded cable with Marinco, Wattgate or Furutech connectors depending on need.
1/4" Techflex.

Got tired of spending piles of $dough$ trying to adjust system sound with cables.
These power cables always made little or no difference, seen and not heard.. sold! and relatively easy&cheap-to-make!

I don't think there's one best PC for amps. A lot will depend on the size of the amplifier and how demanding the speakers are. That said, two PCs that work well here with the cj are the Waveform Fidelity and Kubala-Sosna Emotion cables. Otherwise use the K-S Emotion on the preamplifier and tape preamplifier and the K-S Elations on the phono section.

I used the Balden's for many years and put a lot of expensive cords up against them. They just did something right to my ears with much of my equipment. But they were replaced with TWL (triode Wire Labs) cables in the last 2 years and things have gotten much better.

Of course, there just isn't any one cord that will work perfctly with all equipment, so it is a try/buy for synergy.

I'm curious about Synergistic Research Power Cords.

Anyone have experience with those?

I use WyWires and like the design and price point. Been meaning to try an expensive K-S Emotion cord, but haven't.

as far as Synergistic, I can't get past their marketing to ever try a product of theirs. quantum tunneling, etc. IMHO, YMMV, etc.

Unity Audio PCs for me. More transparent and less noise than other PCs I've used.

Audience Au24SE. Super smooth, transparent, dynamic and ultra low noise. No weak points and never offensive. I did a head-to-head on my system with the Wireworld Platinum Electra 7 and greatly preferred the Audience. The Audience just disappears. With the WW Platinum, it was all I heard. I couldn't get rid of it fast enough.

bottlehead, gotta build it yourself. twisted and braided wire geometry does its part to cancel line noise, I upgraded the ends to Oyaide. besides the satisfaction of DIY you save beau coup bucks for more vinyl/downloads.

Siltech Ruby Mountain II G7 factory terminated with Furutech FI-50 conduct my McIntosh MC2301s with gusto & finesse. Add Furutech Flux-50 power filters inline & you're holographically transported by Tinkerbelle into the performance.

My favourite DIY recipe:

Furutech FA-3TS20, TechFlex Flexo Conductive, Furutech Flux FI-50 rhodium connectors. Add Furutech Flux-50 and you have a formidable performer.

I add to the comment that there is no "one cable for every system/setup" .
I use Harmonix and Verastarr stock power cords and some Furutech stock ( the Flux only at this time ) . As Steve the Furutech 3TS20 in spool with Oyaide and Furutech connectors , I had tested almost every connector on the market.
Time ago used the Iego cable with Furu-Oyaide-Wattgate connectors , very good results for money but until some point them are not enough with the best systems .
Shunyata are very good ones also.

Steve - these Flux 50's get a lot of talk. Where do you have hours placed? Just on the amps? Have you measured their effectiveness using a line noise analyzer?

I have Flux-50 on every component in the localised network including all amps.. i.e. anything that feeds off a power conditioner. As with the ebb & flow of power, the effect is cumulative.

I haven't used a line noise analyser to measure their effectiveness. It is a startling improvement that can be heard immediately. I wouldn't mind buying several more of these.
