I'll jump in here. Not exactly a panel, but definitely not a cone or box. It's a ribbon dipolar line source.

Infinity IRS Series V that I tri-amplified using the PassLabs XVR1 three way active crossover.

OK, the woofers are cones, but they taper off at 106 Hz. From 106 Hz to 4800 Hz are the midranges and above 4800Hz are the tweeters.

Congratulations on your purchase i would like to know if that is a standard base you have showing on the last photo because IF it is it was about time that Magnepan did something about those UGLY feet they had before.:audiophile::audiophile::audiophile::audiophile:

My first post on the forum guys.

I've got a pair of mint Apogee Duetta Signatures. I've pulled the crossover out of the speakers and put it into a separate outboard box. Replaced resistors with Mills, replaced caps with a variety of Russian PIO's, Sonicaps, Auricaps and left a few of the vintage Sprague's in there, also potted the inductors.

These baby's need power, so I've got a McCormack DNA500 delivering about 1200 watts into their 3 ohm load. Of course there are still tubes in the preamp and phono stage (gotta have tubes somewhere).

Enjoy,
Bob

I have a pair of Magnepan 1.6's and MMG's. I should have bought a pair of 3.6's when the wife told me to buy them instead of the 1.6's.
