i bought a record off amazon. it said it was 180g audiophile recording, in "like new" condition. was boz scaggs silk degrees. well i received it this morning and first off it was not a 180g pressing but the original 1976 record, and it was super shiny and strange looking. when i looked closer all the grooves were smoothed out and gone?????? wtf???
i of course had to test it and the stylus shot right across the record.lol. i lifted it quickly. first time i ever saw that , i sent a couple messages out to amazon and the seller. see what happens.
guess thats what happens when you buy a like new 180g record for only $10.lol.
any ideas how that happens, besides sandpaper???

It was a mistake...You received an uncut vinyl...collectors item( not) I bet it was an honest mistake

What are you talking about? It has micro-grooves...if your cheapo RECORD player can't track it, that's not my fault - Bad buyer, beware...LOL

That's what I would do....LOL

A mistake during pressing....or rather, not pressed.

This error is not unlike opening a copy of artist X and getting artist Y whether the record label itself states artist X or Y. It happens sometimes and is generally just a poor QC related issue. I'm sure Amazon will get you squared away.

lol!!! actually the only smooth part is the first 4 songs on one side. the other side is fine. i just got a message back from the seller, it said keep the record he will refund my money.
and that he is new at grading and records so he didnt realize the difference between a regular disc and a 180g. lol. sounds like i shouldnt trust him to buy records from anymore.

Boy do you bring back memories. Once bought an LP rated excellent off of ePay and it was totally trashed. Scratched to hell, with gouges that looked like the Panama Canal. This seller was a certifiable nut job and refused to refund the cost telling me that I had switched records and was trying to scam him. WTF! Thank God this was my only bad ePay experience!

I thought that was the best way to listen to Boz anyway. Just a nice quick second or two and then put something good on. :snicker:

:hi: hey buddy!

Steve,
If it has the original label is a unique LP and should cost more on eBay
Or

Is a 45 single side only :)
