New D3's....first impressions

Btw, I think that everyone that is coming to NYC next week, should converse collectively, if you haven't already:) and decide on somewhat of an agenda. I am not talking about anything elaborate. Myself, my main interest is to physically meet all of you at once.....WoW! But it would be great if anyone that had a specific "question" that they wanted answered upon their trip home, ie, is this guy nuts talking about 52 watt SET's driving power hungry D3's (we will have fun with this one, post visit) or whatever question that you might have regarding either something at Rhapsody or possibly another audio store here in the city.

What would be great is if we had somewhat of an agenda and better yet, if it was somewhat agreed upon before the 10-01 "trip". That way we could get everything that needs to get done for everyone that we possibly can. Joe, you really should bring over the CJ's. They would sound INCREDIBLE on the D3's. I bet they would make pretty much any speaker sound world class. If Joe brought over his amps my favorite part of the day would be to hear the CJ's on the D3's.

Basically what I need is a list of things that everyone would like to see or hear or whatever. And if you want to hear something that another NYC dealer has that is of paramount interest to you, then I can help you figure out how to fit that into your day. With you still getting to hear what you wanted to hear at Rhapsody. Or if you want to bring something with you, let's talk about it and see if it makes sense.

So, Mike, Joe, all, not sure if you are already thinking about an agenda/"wish list" OR if you would prefer to just "wing it", which is really my style? I'm fine either way, although it would be great to have some type of idea on how everyone would like to spend YOUR day and that we are all on the same page. My only issue is that everyone maximizes their time while here in the city and specifically at Rhapsody.

Thoughts?

For me my agenda is really just to meet All you guys and put a face with a name.
Bring a couple albums that I am very familiar with. Hear the c1.1 for at least a couple songs to see how they match up to d1 and 3.
I got a sealed Uk or german pressing of Joni Mitchell blue. Cant remember which and im not home right now.I'd like to pop it open there and hear it for the first time on your setup Bob.
Other than that and maybe a pastrami sandwich from Katz(sorry Doug ) I have no agenda.
Yes I'm interested in raidhos, but to be honest I'm more interested in those absolares. They are right up my alley. SET and with a decent amount of watts.

That pastrami sandwich sounds incredible. I don't think that they deliver, but maybe for a big order. I will check it out.

The one thing that I would venture a guess is that once we play ONE LP, we will not be going back to cd's.....trust me on that one. So any cd's that are going to be played should probably be done first and then we pop open that JM viny and whatever other vinyl you all bring. I would imagine between everyone bringing something to listen to we will keep ourselves very busy and amused.

Thanks Bob!

You are too kind. I would love to bring my CJ gear but I am not comfortable, yet, hauling 200 lbs (total) of amps at this time but I am open to it in the future, possibly on a weekend. I truly believe you about the Absolare gear and I am afraid I will like it. I do want your opinion about the Goldmund 280. My friend in PA has my Job 225 and once they come back on line, plan on ordering another. Unless the 280 kills it. My goal is to meet you and everyone who shows up and get a sense of the D3. If they sound like I believe they do, then I have some thinking to do.

I hope it's not contagious. :)

Joe, that was hilarious:roflmao:I think I actually do have some type of "fever", but not sure if it's contagious or not, you all better wear masks:roflmao: Better yet you should wear full body anti contamination suits.:woot:

Nelson, I do NOT have this LP. But I am sure from the title that it would sound incredible.

Bob,
Let me see how can I protect it so I can take it with me
It's a must have Vinyl to collect and very expensive
All of you going to love it.
Sold many gears when used as a LP demo
:)

I can't wait to hear what everyone thinks of the Absolare gear. I love my little 845 integrated but the Absolares are quite a few tiers above it.

And remember how much we all like pictures...:)

I'm bringing my demo CD (yes, I made you all a copy). Would like to go through a few tracks on that. Joe wants to hear Goldmund. I want to hear Absolare. We all want to hear D3, D1, C1.1. Would love to sneak in an audition of the Vivid's if you still have them.

As long as I get a taste of the Raidho I'll be happy. I just need to see where I need to end up system-wise.

All good, except the Vivid's are on their way today for review. Philip Ohanlon is picking them up today, so there won't be any Vividing at this party. It's a Raidho party!

Was just trying to hear what all the Vivid fuss is over. If its akin to the Rockport fuss, it will be a short listen for me. Not that I was looking to have any giant snail in my room....but still wouldn't mind hearing them....oh well....RMAF.

Nelson, I see that you can get used lp's for about $300. There is a new one on Ebay for $899...yikes. But if it sells systems, then it might be a bargain:) I might buy one of the used ones, but I probably will not have it by Tuesday.
