New D3's....first impressions

Bummer. It will be a rocking party!!!!

Yeah, Mark and Norman, I wish you guys were all coming as well. But like Nelson said there will be "other times".....but somehow I think this is going to be a "Dandy".

Dear All.

Both Michael and I are very happy to see all the nice comments about our products.. For the last 10 years it has been hard work to get where we are today.. A few times it was so hard that we both nearly gave up... to much troubles and too many nights where you could not sleep, . :( But for 2 years ago when we introduced the new Raidho x.1 series, the sun start to shine on us and we got the tail wind.. We could see the light in front of us and the hard work started to pay back... so thank you guys for your support... we both appriciate it very much... :)
Kind regards

+1

This place keeps getting better and better! :woot:

This place is "Da BOMB", man!!! Welcome Lars:exciting:

Btw, I received my C1.1's. They are connected looking at each other and wired out of phase with a blanket over them. The poor things, they just arrived from Denmark, jump out of the box and I throw a blanket over them....they're probably sayin' "What the heck is going on". I am going to put 200 hours on them before I listen to them. They will be ready for 10-1 if anyone (Steve) wants to hear them.

Hey don't treat my little babies like that!!!!!! Lmao!
Can't wait to hear all these speakers . Will be enlightening to say the least!

Hey, guess where everyone (well not really everyone) will be a week from today????

The C1.1's were put "under cover" last Thursday. They have been running 24/7 since and I am going to let them go until this coming Sunday, which will give the 250 hours. I have no idea how they sound???

The D3's....OMG, I don't even know where to start, it's so great that several of you will be here next week, so I am really going to wait and let everyone describe the sound with full description post visit.

I have been working on placement, electronics, cables, room treatment and room treatment devices. The system(s) is/are locked in and ready for prime time. At this point, the D3's now have approximately 225 hours on them, running with by burn in gear, a 10 year old Goldmund SS pre (which is so-so at best) and the Merrill Audio Veritas amps. This set up which I have been running 24/7 sounds better than ANYTHING that I have personally experienced. I could go on and on, but the "guys" will be able to give their impressions next week.

With the SS pre and class D amps I am getting such an incredible 3D, wall to wall holographic soundstage, layering out the wazoo, and a midrange to die for that I am literally stunned when I listen to it.

With saying this, I then connected up the Absolare gear, which REALLY DRIVES the D3's as loud as I would ever listen and the sound goes to a completely different level than with the SS set up. It's very strange to me, because if I was told that I had to live with the Goldmund pre and the Merrill amps with the D3's I would say fine, it's the best I've ever heard, so I'm fine with that.

Then you have the Absolare pre that you can run with either the Merrill amps or the Goldmund Telos 280 or the Goldmund Telos 1000's. At this point literally any combination that I put on does it for me. It's a little confusing actually, because I put one set up on and I'm blown away, I put on another set of electronics and same thing, I am in awe. I can't even say which is my favorite sound as I like whatever I connect. But I REALLY think EVERYONE is going to be VERY SURPRISED when they hear the Absolare electronics driving the D3's.

I presently feel that I can "blow someone away" by playing three female singers, with no instruments, one center and two three feet apart on either side, at 80 o 85db. When I played this recording previously on other systems the center singer was prominent, the side singers so, so. Now the side singers are maybe three times more prominent (maybe more) than the center singer used to be. All three singers are equally prominent and it's totally mesmerizing to me......no instruments required.

Don't forget the Absolare are SET's not a push-pull tube system. To be able to hear what GREAT SET's do on a speaker like the Raidho D3's well, I will reserve anything more untill a WEEK FROM TODAY:exciting:
