Nice Joe!
Two of mine are used also. I realized that I don't have a shiny new LP to put on the turntable when it arrives so I needed to fix that. I'm not planning on amassing a huge vinyl library and since most new 180 gram records run around $30, that plan won't be a problem.![]()
Easier said then done! Trust me. Shiny new vinyl records are like audio crack.![]()
I'm already understanding that Mike! I was doing some online shopping last night and kept saying to myself, ooh I need that one, and that one too, and that one!!! I think there were easily 25 records in the cart.![]()
In 1997, I sold my record collection to my father-in-law. I had over a 1000 LP's. All carefully cared for. Some real gems too. He didn't even play one record. He had plans to buy a turntable, blah, blah, blah. It never happened. The records are still in the same cabinet (in a cool dark basement!). Guess who's buying them back? When I head to Canada this summer, that will be one of my projects. Packing up all my records and sending them "home".
Mike

Hey Doug, I have a couple of thoughts for you on new vinyl. Check out the catalog of re-masters being pressed by "Quality Record Pressings". These are the finest sounding pressings I have ever heard ! They are owned by the guy who owns "Acoustic Sounds". I can't recommend them highly enough. Also, any remasters done by Bernie Grundman and pressed at "RTI" are also very much worth considering !!
