My second vinyl record ....

Jim,

They are dragging me into it, but I know it will be okay.

Joe...I was going to send you one of my favorite college LPs, but when I pulled it from the shelf...out fell some stems and some seeds. I have no idea how they got there.

Ha!

It must have been from a friend/roommate. :)

Unless you used to mow lawns too ;)

Stems and seeds nothing you don't need...

Are you still getting the VPI Joe? It's been a while since you've talked about it.

Classic 3 in walnut is on order then I need to save for the cart.

Classic 3 in piano black here. Lyra Kleos to boot.

The Lyra is a great choice....a perfect match with your system. They are neutral, detailed, airy, dynamic and just get out of the way.

I can't wait. I was listening to my vinyl today and wondering how much better can it sound!

For any vinyl newbies out there, the Michael Fremer DVD on turntable setup is quite good, and actually funny.

Rob,

It may be free but it's also priceless. :) Thanks again!

No problem...one of the things that makes the concept so easy to setup ? 1) They give you the tools to do it right 2) Things are pretty much set early.

So if the cart is not pre-mounted, you mount your cart on a headshell sled that you take off first. Alignment is almost there. You reattach the sled and use their alignment tool to move it either forward or back when its on the DOT. No angling etc. Then, they give you a weight gauge that ensures the correct weight AT the exact table height...adjust the counterbalance for your carts preferred gram weight. DONE. Play LP's...lol

One note - as with many BelT drives, before you start it, give the platter a spin in the right direction and as you do, turn it on. Otherwise, it slips slightly on the belt and will wear it out...it will quickly start...but why put wear and tear, right ?
