My second vinyl record ....

Nice Joe! :)

Two of mine are used also. I realized that I don't have a shiny new LP to put on the turntable when it arrives so I needed to fix that. I'm not planning on amassing a huge vinyl library and since most new 180 gram records run around $30, that plan won't be a problem. :)

Easier said then done! Trust me. Shiny new vinyl records are like audio crack. :)

I'm already understanding that Mike! I was doing some online shopping last night and kept saying to myself, ooh I need that one, and that one too, and that one!!! I think there were easily 25 records in the cart. :D

In 1997, I sold my record collection to my father-in-law. I had over a 1000 LP's. All carefully cared for. Some real gems too. He didn't even play one record. He had plans to buy a turntable, blah, blah, blah. It never happened. The records are still in the same cabinet (in a cool dark basement!). Guess who's buying them back? :) When I head to Canada this summer, that will be one of my projects. Packing up all my records and sending them "home". :)

How cool is that! I'm sure there will be lots of memories when you start digging in to them. Having your collection back will be like seeing an old friend. So much of my/our lives have revolved around music. I told my wife years ago that if there was ever a real genie, and I did indeed get to make three wishes, one of those would be to have every piece of music I ever owned back again.

I can't imagine how psyched you are to have them back in your possession. :exciting:

Hey Doug, I have a couple of thoughts for you on new vinyl. Check out the catalog of re-masters being pressed by "Quality Record Pressings". These are the finest sounding pressings I have ever heard ! They are owned by the guy who owns "Acoustic Sounds". I can't recommend them highly enough. Also, any remasters done by Bernie Grundman and pressed at "RTI" are also very much worth considering !!

Thanks Mark, I'll check into these.
