Hi to all from Ancient !
I'm new here, so be compassionate.
Question(s): the heart of my system are older Mac items - C34v Preamp and MC7270
Amp. I'm moving out of an early set of Matin/Logan Ascents to . . . (?). So, my question
comes in two parts. 1. my room is 24 x 24 ft., 8 ft.ceiling. Due to room design constraints
M/L speakers must be close to rear wall. Should I simply abandon my desire to acquire a nice pair of SummitX's and go to cones? If so, I'll need something sufficient to fill a large
room (B&W 800, or ?). 2. My Mac items were "spec-d" 7 years ago. Should I expect a high order sound path from this rather ancient equipment? I also own a spec-d Conrad-Johnson
MF-2250. Would I gain anything by substituting the C/J for the MC-7270, yes or no?
Thanks for any assistance here, folks!
