MIT in the store!

I can't wait for the comparison with the Shunyta Sigma loom. But, I've heard a full magico system with Shunyata for power (cables and conditioners) and MIT speaker and interconnects.

Are the MIT and Shunyata Sigma looms comparable price-wise?

Mike, how's the evaluation going so far? If I were you, I would also audition the Oracle series.

It's hard to stay impartial, because these are on another planet.

I took them to a clients and now he won't give them back.

I would LOVE to try the Oracle series.

Not sure if you plugged in the MA-X phono that you show in the picture, but I would say there is just no other for this application. Its performance can be further improved if you shield the box with mu-metal and depending on the situation, with additional ferrite beads... this is how I run it. Fascinating cables and technology, especially the Oracle line.

I'm going through mental gymnastics about keeping it. I'm going to order a full loom for my home system. Since I have a decent turntable with the Kronos, I think keeping the MA-X Phono makes sense.

I had always sworn "no boxes on my cables for me". But after MIT sent me this loom to TRY, I could not get over the dramatic difference I was hearing and therefore, I bought the demo set without thinking twice. I even had to take them to a clients house to verify what myself and others who came to the store last week were hearing. I thought I was losing my mind. I've never heard cables do what these do.

This is where I can get into trouble. [emoji41]. Without going into too much, let's just say, I greatly prefer the MIT on the systems I've tried it on. These aren't cables where you say "this one does this better and that one does that better." ON THE SYSTEMS I'VE TRIED (full disclosure: all Magico systems to date), this is like comparing a $500 Rotel amp to a pair of Pass XS300's. I've tried dozens of cables, and they were all various shades of gray. The MIT cables are entirely on another planet on both a micro and macro level. I'm glad Alon at Magico asked the guys at MIT send me a full loom to try. I'll admit, when MIT first called me, I did everything I could to persuade them that I wasn't interested. But they persisted and boy, am I glad they did. Trust me, there have been lots of "WTF?" moment as I've been listening. The differences have been so substantial, you honestly begin to question what you're hearing and whether this is just some weird placebo affect. I'm here to assure you, it's not. Thankfully I've had others help me confirm what I'm hearing.

Mike, exactly which interconnects and speaker cables from the MIT line-up have you been using?

Interesting.

That good, huh?

1000% yes. Beg or borrow some. Do whatever you can to try them in your system. After 3 days, there will be no way you could take them out. I'm hearing wonderful tone on guitar, piano, amazing decay on instruments and voices, resolution at a higher level (like a thin veil removed), a much more liquid, fluid sound. Much greater dynamics and at a macro level, such a level of emotional engagement.
