Magico Announces the A3 Loudspeaker

This line looks like a real winner. Based on the driver technology and the solid as hell cabinets Im sure it will perform at or higher than the competition. Its a great time to be in the market for a 10K speaker set. I really liked the Paradigm Persona 3f, but sometimes the highs sounded a bit harsh to me and weak on the lower end...hopefully these Magicos can deliver that amazing soundstage without the harshness and better bass.

I had heard that they are making a center channel for this line as well...does anyone have info on release date for that? I have a combined HT/Music room and these would be a great upgrade.

Really looking forward to getting mine...I put a deposit on the last of the preorders my dealer placed, and the preorder pricing was pretty damn good too! I liked the Sopras a lot, but they were a bit more than I wanted to spend.

I want to upgrade my CC, and this would be perfect. Then later upgrade the fronts to the A3.

Are they doing a center channel for these? That would be great.

If that's the case, are they going to also make some bookshelf's for surround duty? Or am I pushing it?

I heard there will be bookshelves, a center and a subwoofer as a part of this series. I thought about the bookshelves, but since I dont listen to surround music I dont think I can justify such expensive surrounds (considering what actually comes out of the surround speakers when watching movies).

Nice! A series bookshelves would make a great second pair for me.

One interesting thing is A3 uses 1.1" pure beryllium tweeter, same dome area as diamond-coated 1.1" beryllium tweeter in M6. Up until M6, different variations of Magico tweeters in Q, S and M series have always been 1" dome.

Magico said A3 tweeter is purpose built for A series.

Magico seems to have moved away from stand mounted two-ways since the Q1. Considering that the Mini basically launched the company, I'm curious to know why they have not developed an S Mini or M Mini. Perhaps in time. An A Mini might be very nice, but I would like to see a very high quality, no holds bared design in their reference M line. It would be frighteningly expensive, but there are a lot of small rooms which would benefit from a super high quality Mini. I think the real issue is how could they sell an M Mini that costs more than an S3II? I chose the Mini II over the V3 at the time, but I don't know how many other people made that same choice.

A bit of the same thinking here. While I love the Harbeths, the summerhouse could use some magic(o).

I think that is an absolutely fair proposition. If your room just physically cannot accommodate stand-mounts. I also have that in one location.
