Mike - I guess another digital component coming to Suncoast Audio?![]()
Long term you may want to stick with Lumin Music Systems (They already OEM their Lumin Application and several analog/DAC technologies to other streamer companies), or MSB? Look up Gibson Guitars. They are the parent company of Esoteric/TASCAM/Philips, TEAC and Pioneer, among others. Gibson just went from junk bond status to becoming bankrupt. Once that happens, all subsidiaries become prime for divestiture which is not a good thing for customer service or product development.Am finding it hard to get excited about this TBH. A new Lumin reference DAC to compete with the Esoteric N-01, the new MSB Premiere etc. Just saying.
Probably too early to know but if the power supply is much better. Can you use the new one on the S1?
From Lumin's Facebook page: "New product prices haven't been finalised yet." & "we have a new website launch imminent"
I'm not involved with pricing, so I'm not giving official figures, but I thought the LUMIN S1 price was reduced in 2016 to...If the price of € 12,000 is confirmed for the X1, it would be a very pleasant surprise for me. After which, in my opinion, they made a mistake marking the S1 at € 11,500, I was hoping that now, to differentiate them, they would mark the X1 at at least € 16,000. The one that would mark it at €12,000 would be to go back to the pricing policy that started with the A1 that I think was a great price policy.
Just read on another forum that the tentative US price for the Lumin X1 is $14,000.
It sure would be great if Lumin would do a trade in/upgrade program. I have an S1 and would definitely look at doing a trade in for an X1 (depending on what the X1 details are). Peter? See this post? ;-)
