Question.

I seem to remember a unit that ripped everything except DSD that some people were using in conjunction with the Lumin to store files. Anybody remember the name of the unit ? Can't seem to find anything.

I just use a MacBook Pro with XLD (software) and rip right to my Synology NAS.

I have read on another forum that Airplay might not be working just right. Even with the latest firmware update and Lumin Streaming set to ON, the person is having an issue. the poster noted that none of his Apple devices on their network see the Lumin as an option when they choose AirPlay. The person is using a Macbook Air to login into their Synology NAS. Anyone tried Airplay with their Lumin using a MAC.

I tested this setup this morning, steaming from iTunes to the Lumin using AirPlay on my MacBook. Worked perfectly.

I wonder if coming from his Synology NAS could be a problem. He notes that the Macbook Air he uses to login into his Synology NAS does not see the Lumin for AirPlay...Nor does his iPod Touch, macbook Pro and iPad... They do however see his two Apple TVs. I asked him to jump over to this site...

I've not had any problems streaming via airplay either.

There are two other issues I've noted related to the iPad app, and I'm wondering if others have these as well:

1) In the playlist, album art is sometime wrong for a particular album. It seems that some album covers sometimes get replaced by another album cover in the playlist. (However, the "now playing" window (top left) is always correct.)

2) DSD albums have the songs sorted alphabetically rather than by the correct playing order on the album.

In settings in the Lumin app, you have to turn on the airplay option. If you don't, you won;t see the lumina as an airplay option.

He has the 'Lumin Streaming set to ON' which provides the ability to connect to Airplay.

The Lumin did not ship until December, 2012. How do you get 4 years?
