Lumin MQA Settings

Peter..when using the Lumin app the player does reflect the MQA status on the front panel screen but does not say MQA when using Roon. The sound is ..as expected...not as good either with Masters albums...

Please make sure DSP Engine is disabled in your Roon. Lumin supports full MQA decoding even when using Roon. And in Roon there is a chance that you may have selected the HiFi version of the album instead of the Masters version of the album since both may look exactly the same. Anyway, if you can't get it to work, please post your Roon signal path picture:

Linn Kazoo Play full MQA to Lumin D1, whish the could mark Mqa album, and have Masters when using Tidal.

If you use Linn Kazoo, please use Tidal desktop app or Lumin app to find MQA albums and put them into favorite first. It'd be possible to play the favorite MQA albums using Linn Kazoo with full MQA decoding, even if it will not identify Masters album.

Recorded in MQA. Released about 3 weeks ago. Wow!

Mike this sounds really nice, but I can't find any notes that noted it was actually recorded in MQA vs just a 24/192 file that has been submitted to MQA for the "MQA treatment.

I've been trying to get confirmation from Warner direct. Warner signed on using MQA in Oct 2016.

It would be interesting to know if studios are actually recording ( or have MQA filters contained in their processing before a release to media services like tidal. ) Keep us updated

Is there a way, within the Lumin app, to create an MQA folder and add the MQA albums found within the Tidal search section,to that album???

It should be possible to add Masters albums to Tidal favorite using Lumin app or Tidal desktop app.

Under 'Playlists' in the Tidal section of the Lumin app i have created a folder with my MQA albums in it..Question..when i go to the folder the albums are displayed with the individual tracks already open with the album cover displayed with each track..hope this makes sense...NOW question..is there a way that i can have the albums displayed with just the album cover alone ...with the individual track appearing after clicking on the album i want instead of all the track being displayed ..?..this takes up a great deal of space and makes it more difficult, and timely in finding the one i want..

You have to put them in the "Favorites" folder if you don't want the album already opened. The one you created is not really a folder but a running list.

Jack..thanks a lot...will do that tonight..dave....have already done that and it is great..Thanks again..dave

I find the difference between MQA and HD albums of the same album varies between not much difference and significant improvement with the MQA version. Most are improved in my opinion. It certainly is wonderful with the albums that are improved. It is not difficult to hear the improvement...Thanks Peter..

I finally got to sit down last night and do some listening. It is very pleasant sounding. Easy to listen to and I feel is an improvement vs the non mqa versions on tidal.

Had a strange thing happen this AM while playing albums out of my 'Favorites' section, under 'My Music' within the Tidal icon in the Lumin app. I got out of the section, for a minute, and then when i went back to play more music...especially MQA albums, when i touched the 'My Music' box under the Tidal icon, it now says 'Error Search returned 0 results.'...It seems i have lost all of my 'favorites music..Any ideas how to put it all back?..When i go to the Roon app on my iPad or on my iMac i can see all the albums there but cannot figure out how to make them appear in the MY Music section of the Tidal icon in the Lumin app....sorry for the long confusing rant..

Peter...I did what you suggested by swiping the app away and then went back and the Error box is still there..

I think i might have had the same issue as you have, i solved it by deleting the app, then reinstalling it.......and everything seems fine again.
Hope it helps.
