Hi Mike,

These are great points you make for both SE and balanced. But in your case with the incoming balanced Lampi 211 mono amps, I think you'll need to go balanced to realize the 211's full potential. If the 300B's are approved by Lukasz in the balanced GG, then I think it is a no brainer for you. Just go with quad matched Elrog 300B's. For my system, it's an entirely different story. I need to use my 520 preamp for my 501 amps to realize their full potential. The 520 preamp is unbalanced. Therefore the advantage of the balanced B7 or GG is mitigated. In my case, I think I'll need to go SE whether the 300B's are approved in the balanced B7/GG or not.

Ken, do you know if the balanced Lampi has SE outputs? I need that in order to use my Air Tight gear.

I'm pretty sure the balanced Lampi has both SE and XLR outputs. I double check it just to make sure.

That's great news, Joe! I was pretty sure I read it on one of the threads. I would think this would make the balanced even more appealing to Mike. Does anyone know if Lukasz has officially approved the 300B's in the balanced B7/GG?

It's official, 300B and PX4 in addition to the 101D are sanctioned.
 
Even though I don't own a Lampi DAC, these threads have been quite educational. I feel like I have gone through a balanced vs. SE and tube tutorial! :D

Well, the broad tube choice for a balanced GG/B7 makes this a compelling proposition. I need to consider specification options now for a GG.
