I have a quick question to all the Lampizator folks: can I use my Auralic Aries (USB)? I hooked it up, but the Aries couldn't see the Lampi. Thoughts?

I'm using my MBP running JRiver for now.

The Aeries does indeed support the Lampizator. You must manually go the digital output section in settings on the Aeries and select Amanero Combo driver (usb must be connected). You may have to restart the Aeries to get it to detect the first time, but thats it and your good to go.

Please remember to toggle between USB PCM and USB DSD on the DAC depending on what you plan on listening to.

Enjoy.

Thank you Fred. I will switch over now.

Out too dinner but glad Fred was able to beat me to it.

Looks like solid plate EML 45s. The WE 101s, TJ SE 300bs and Anniversary EML 45 globes (not sold anymore) are nice upticks in my opinion.

Just make sure you toggle the switch in the back to 45 for 101,45 tubess . Switch to 2a3 to hear 2a3, 6a3, 300b, 275a, etc.

Have fun:celebrate008_2:

I have plenty of 300b's. So, if I'm going to install them, would you suggest I put a matching pair in the back and a single in the front, flick the switch and go or does the front rectifier tube need to remain?

The front single tube is the rectifier, leave that be. EML mesh 5u4g is great.

First power down the DAC, wait a minute. Flip the switch in the back to 2a3. Then install your matching 300bs. Power her up and check it out!

That's what I thought based on the design. Thank you. Some vintage Western Electric 300b's going in!

Been listening for over 8 hours. Trying to get lots of hours in listening before I have to give it back to Jerry on Sunday.

It has to be sounding good for you to want to listen that long :audiophile:.
