Yes a great speaker in that $1500 pricerange but I went and listened to them for a whole day and the went back and listened to them against the r300's which is the same tweeter in a bigger box with a bass driver. And for $300 more I bought the r300's. Was a way fuller sound.
And unlike the ls50 the r300 can pump out some bass. Both are great under $2k speakers

I have it with Velodyne DDS15+ dialed super low - barely turned on with crossover at 60 and it works. Heard it with baby 1k rel sub at dealer and it sounded really good.

Great speaker for the price. I have a set in use in my bedroom system. Didn't find a need for a subwoofer in my 4x5m room. However, I did find them to be quite sensitive to stands and matching amplification. It performed OK with my Cary SLI-80 but really sang when I tried it with an ICEpower amp based on ASP500 modules. I got great gain moving from an Atacama SE24 to a Partington Super Dreadnought.

Why not the TBI Magellan sub? TBI Audio Systems

Some say its the easist sub to blend with and it does not muddy the upper bass of the monitors. It only thuds when needed for subbass frequencies. Jan Plummer is the maker and he is very friendly and knowledgable. His inexpensive Millenia class B/D amp ($500) is a HERO amp with 2 monster threads at Audiocircle. With easy to drive speakers and the latest factory tweaks, the words "giant killer" are being muttered.
