Jolida - Fusion 3502 tube integrated amp ...

I don't know anything about that amp except it retailed for $15k and it's SS. I don't obviously know if the amp is $15k good or if it's just overpriced. The cost to weight ratio isn't great, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything. If you like the amp, the Primaluna preamp doesn't seem to be a good fit. I know some people feel the opposite, but if you are going to mix and match tubes and SS, it makes more sense (to me) to match a SS preamp with a tube amp than vice versa. Many relatively inexpensive tube preamps tend to be noisier than SS preamps and that noise gets amplified by your SS power amp. Tube power amps tend to be quiet unless you have a bad one. Combine a SS preamp with a quiet tube power amp and now you have something.

Hi Joe,

Nice amp to play with!

RE: the 12ax7 drivers, you might try some NOS 5751's in that role too. They can be really nice in lieu of the 12ax7 depending.

True…I have seen some RCA ones locally.

What's going up, when and how much?

I am sure the Rogue 100 is awesome. I like the idea of multiple tube use in the Primaluna gear.

Mark has the Rogue stereo 100 in stock and some other new toys I'm going to listen to next week. I'm seriously contemplating picking up a Primaluna Dialogue HP integrated or the Primaluna DiaLogue Premium Preamp before the price increase, I can't makeup my mind which way to go.

John

Update:

This Jolida Fusion 3502 is simply outstanding. The first night it was a little harsh like some new gear sometimes sounds. Now it is opening up beautifully, surprising amount of bass with 3D and depth. Lots of air around voices and instruments. This integrated is a knock out home run. If you want an inexpensive tube amp that can play so much higher than its price would suggest, run and get one. Mine is going nowhere. Now I am even thinking about the new Jolida Luxor VTM 100 monoblock tube amps coming next year.

Very nice Joe. I'm glad you're enjoying this amp. Is this more crummy Chi-fi or is it made elsewhere?

Sent from my mobile.

Oops, sorry Mark. I forgot to insert one of these little guys in the body of my response, :P:lol::D:happy:. Joe knows me well enough by now to figure out that I'm just being smarmy. I love my Chi-Fi, as long as it's Chi-Fi done right.

Actually, the juxtaposition of your two statements was hilarious.

I am not sure where it's made. Sure some of the casework could be a little better, but it's killer for the money. You have to save somewhere. :) I love it. And, no it's not "better" than my CJ or LM gear, but satisfying indeed. :satisfying:

Joe, I'm with you on this one. I have got immense enjoyment from a 40k set-up as well as the same from a 950k set-up too.

Unless something has changed (and things always change), most of the manufacturing and assembly of Jolida gear takes place in China and then is shipped to the U.S. for final assembly/QA. You can tell by the faceplate on your amp that you took the picture of that it wasn't something manufactured in the U.S. in a precision sheet metal shop.

Bump!

Did someone get a new Jolida Fusion 3502 ? Come on, spill the beans :D

Yes i set my 3502s up yesterday so i only have a few hours on it and its my first tube amp, im very impressed already. Im using it with the EL34s and i was worried about the bass but im getting more bass than almost all of the SS amps ive owned. Very Happy. Thanks Joe Ted

Ted,

Welcome to the club. It's a great little amp. I put it back in the system last night with my Devialet driving it as a dac and preamp with the bypass enabled. I have the KT-150's ready to go so in the next day or so, I'll try them out too.

Enjoy and thanks for the initial report. It will only get better.

Ted,

I agree it's amazing, especially for the money. The KT-150's sound amazing in it. For me, this is a supreme value. Most tube amps that I've had do perfectly well at low volumes, this Jolida is no exception. I am so happy you love it.

It is the best amp ive had for low volume listening. Is that something most tube amps have in common? Thanks Ted

I have to agree and I am in total amazement at how awesome my Jolida Fusion 3502 sounds with KT-150 tubes. I do a lot of low level, late night listening. The amount of detail, big sound and powerful bass is stunning. I love the amp and especially love the tubes. Holy cow!

$1600 for the amp and $400 for the tubes.
