If you walked in to the "music room" in the dark and turned the lights on forgetting those thing were there it would scare the s**t out of you.

Joe

You know deep down what you like and you have a plan. Stick to it. If you like Harbeth and Strad's then Magico and Raidho are not for you, nor is Wilson. The last three are all on the TAD side of neutral. I think your ear is a lot like mine. I like Vandersteen and Reynaud, you like Harbeth and SF. Variations of the same theme.

Jack,

Only one other speaker really moved me like the Strads and they are no longer available. Every time I've heard Strads is was goose bumps all the way. I know I sound like a broken record but I need to get them out of my system. We agree. The speakers you've mentioned to me could probably do it for me but I need to scratch the itch. I'm sure the 40.1's could be it but I can't be faithful to one speaker anymore. It's too much fun. :)

Joe...which ones?

Every speaker turns up for sale somewhere at some point. Alon's I only heard once and they were magical. Do any of his current lineup sound similar?

Alon Circe with all Alnico magnets.

Got it. Predecessor to the current NOLAs. Joe...one thing I never understood. It seemed like you also really dug the NOLAs, no? Never had a hankering to try one of his most recent offerings?

Hi Cyril,

I had the Nola Micro Grand Ref. and loved them. Did not want to move up the line but love the speakers.

Good grief, Joe! I see you're still on a roll. I love living vicariously through you! Ha! Maybe you can get Andrew Jones designed $100 Pioneer SP-BS22-LRs next? :snicker:

I've already had them and gave them to one of my brothers. :)

They are awesome speakers
