Owning the KEF LS50, I think the Blades are more like TADs than other speakers...more on the resolving than the warm side of things.

Then maybe the REF line is the way to go? I tried a pair of "lowly" R-300s, and am really impressed for the price.
REF5s aren't going to be cheap; ~$18k...but we know that's not really a concern for Joe

Well the next speakers are the 40.1 Harbeth. I think SF Strads are after that, but I have no intention of selling the 40's, unless they are terrible, which I doubt

Did you get anywhere on your inspection of the inside of the RM-10?
As to the speakers, I think you are on the right track, unless you find out the MR won't push either one of them. Then maybe something down the food chain, but higher efficiency. You won't be happy until you try the Strads in you house.

I have not had time to open it up. Work has been a little busy lately. I'm off tomorrow, so if not tonight, then tomorrow I'll check it out.

As you and I both know your business never takes a vacation, so I understand the busy part. Plus the heat brings out the worst in people. I finally got around to checking out the reviews on the Devore's and the one your friend has looks very promising. Might be interesting to try it and the 40.1 together and see what you think between the two.
