This is typical of class A/B biased amplifiers, since the amount of power that has to be dissipated by the heat sinks increases as they are driven at higher levels. Many people are surprised that with true class A biased amplifiers the opposite is true, that the louder you play them the cooler the amp runs. This is since class A bias essentially runs the amp at full power continuously, so when no power is going to the speakers the heat dissipated in the amp is maximized, and they run relatively cooler as you transfer more power to the speakers.

I merely said he was selling the Dart/Dag based on having a competent SS amp with the JOB. This is what I understood at the time from Joe.

Don't make it seem like I was making stuff up.

People there refuse to admit that the JOB is screaming bargain for the money and a few of the critics there stand to lose sales of their own amps so they started an assassination campaign. Plain truth and bad manners!
 
I'm back. The little JOB sounded great and my friend was impressed. But to be honest, his $1600 (used price) tube amp (VAC PA-100/100) trumped my $1600 SS amp.

Please, do not bring that crap into this forum. It's not about who starts it, who's right or who's turn it is to be pedantic, it's about who carries on with it, they are not worth the deliberation. Leave it be & don't bring the trash here please!!!It's only an amplifier, a cheap one at that.

One thing I've found about the JOB225 is that with the "sweet cord" - it really is sweeter sounding. I highly recommend the matching PC.

I'm looking forward to the JOB preamp, but I can tell you the CP800 with the JOB225 was way better than the "very" old VAC preamp Jeff had and the JOB. I also really like TaraLabs cables on the JOB.
 
Take them how you like, I was referring to the trash & crap from the other site & if I have an opinion I will verse it to my liking, not yours. Take a pill Norman, it's all right!!!
