Randy, I agree the Kef Blade 2's are a big evolution from the original Blade & are a really nice speaker. I can understand why your Kefs are staying in your listening room ...I am sure many of you would not agree with me that you can take my KEF's from my cold dead hands... but that is my preference...
Hmmm... been reading this thread and thinking... there really is no one "best" speaker... although I have never heard the Magical I am sure they are fantastic, and I am also equally sure Ken's Vanderstein's are simply fantastic... as will be Mike's new KEF Blade 2's when they arrive... bottom line is there are many great products out there... I am sure that Ken and Jack and Joe and everyone else have their favorites... just because one person is a fan of JBL or Quads or whatever, does not make others wrong... I am sure many of you would not agree with me that you can take my KEF's from my cold dead hands... but that is my preference... simple... all are great and all are good... period...
By the way I love others opinions.. . some have actually lead me to change mine on some pieces...

Brodricj, how are your Q3's sounding with the S Pods now that you've had a chance to evaluate them? :audiophile:.I have just put my Q3 on SPOD and, if they do to S3Mk2 what they do to Q3, the price of admission to SPOD is well worth it.
I've never heard of that manufacturer, but they look like beautifully machined & presented feet walesi. Are they made from exotic wood or constrained layer metals? I guess the bottom line is you got a nice improvement with your S3 Mk2's & at a fraction of the cost of the S Pods .I have my Mk 2:s on Audio Physik VCF V Magnetic "Sound Optimizers" No idea how they would compare to the SPODS at one third of the price. At least they make a big difference in the same way as the SPODs seem to make.
Would be interesting to hear the SPODs, but at least here it is "pay 3000 and see what happens"
Great post Randy. Have you heard the new KEF Blade 2's yet? They are terrific loudspeakers and vastly improved over the KEF Blade 1's. Definitely worth a listen.
Best,
Ken
Thank you Ken... no I have not had a chance to listen to the Blade 2's yet but I have read a lot about them. I have heard EJ's Ref 3's and of course my R700's... EJ was going to have a set of Blade 2's dropped ship in for us at RMAF, but we have made an agreement with Acoustic Zen to bring in their Maestro speakers to use in our room instead. Should be a fun show!
