Yes and then I would buy more records. Make sure you buy a premium record cleaning machine like an Audio Desk otherwise it will not be money well spent.

You will also need consumables, like inner and outer sleeves.

I agree with Steve above. That's a beautiful system (I love the Lamm gear especially).

The point is that he's getting into vinyl and it's a chicken and egg thing. If you have the means and you're serious - go big or go home. The MC ANNA is a wonderful cartridge as well.

Now the fun begins! Shopping for your first 2000 LP's!

I would not have my subwoofers launching low frequency wave forms at my tube amplifiers.

I and many others love music reproduced via vinyl. If you can afford one of the very best turntables, why not? I've met Steve and he is a genuinely nice guy and I'm happy for him on his recent turntable purchase and the pleasure he will have with it.
 
Agree Totally Steve is one of life's gentleman --while his room is surprisingly compact for the Hi End System he runs, the sound is spectacular and non fatiguing --with the great help of his Fellow Audio friends they are setting the space up

to make it a formidable listening experience

Much better to run them out of phase from the rear corners of the room at 45 degrees towards the listening position.
 
SW probably has less than 100 RTR tapes to playback on his uber tape set up.

I guess when you're old, rich and live on a golf course, but don't play; you need to find things to spend your money/time on.

Getting up to turn the records over is probably good exercise for his knee replacements.
 
With the successful knee surgeries, he's playing golf again. At least recreationally. He's also a bit of a beast on the treadmill. That's how he lost all that weight.

I expect that his number of LPs will grow steadily. I'm happy for him.

Well, Elesher is selling 300 classical LPs for pittance with local pickup in White Plains...no excuse!

well then, if he has that kind of money to spend he should be wise enough to know the importance of a proper sized room !
