If I had to choose one pair of loudspeakers to keep for the rest of my life, AND someone was picking up the tab for the speakers and house with large treated room required to justify them, I would choose the Genesis Prime line arrays. These speakers have over 30 years of development going back to the original Infinity IRS and are now very very well sorted. So much fun factor & awesome sound staging and imaging!

Goldmund Apologue or Stenheim Reference Statement for crazy money.

For sane money, I love my new Kithara's.

If I had the time money and Skills, I would DIY a line array with big Heil tweeters and fast woofers in an open baffle DSP or ASP arrangement.

The new London Loudspeaker company will also make custom, bespoke speakers with unified drivers using layered sound tech. Deposit needed is GBP70K just to start. Tranverse waves and pistonic wave propogation blended.

I also want to hear the Tidal L'Assoluta to be sure of my final pick. I have a standing invit in the NLs that I ned to take up.

Retired and very happy with the ones I have now, Magico S3 Mk IIs. They fit my room, my budget and the music I like.

GSOPhile,

You've expressed audiophile wisdom in the most succinct and precise way I've yet seen: "fit my room, my budget and the music I like". Priceless :)

That's a pretty simple question..it would be what I'm listening to right now...Legacy Audio Focus SE's..

Living Voice Vox Olympian, do not see them in the near future though.

Would require buying a new house and almost 100% system rebuild. But as I would keep the Nyquist that’s already a start.

Rosso Fiorentino Siena. I don't own it yet but will soon. I've had customers' units in house and they are phenomenal, especially with the MastersounD Evolution 845. They are completely sealed so they are much easier to integrate into a room - an important fact if its my LAST speaker purchase.

I have heard COLTRANE and it's fabulous...Very musical.
It's in Munich ( High End ).

Beautiful sound but they have near 150 000 euros of amplifier ( 2 monos blocs) and very expensive cable ( Jorma : 22 000 euros for one paar of XLR ) ....

So it's just for dreaming...

From what's available today I'd go with the Kii Three. In fact I did.

They feel at home on a desk in a small study, as well as stand mounted in a largish living room. They're fairly immune to placement constraints. No regrets about not having a sub: they go right down to 20Hz, with extremely linear frequency and phase response. Great detail, dynamics, imaging.

how are you getting on with these . i heard some recently and they were good but a bit pricy

I have my medium room speaker already but for my future big room as it stands now would be an Acapella High Cellini (which sounds better than their more expensive Violoncello II). I have not heard the models above but presumably they are better.

AN E
