Both my partner Michael and I often getting the same questions like: what is the best amp, cables, racks etc... for your Raidho speakers?

Is there any interest in making a workshop, where we all are helping each other to get the best possible potential out of our music systems??

Our idea is that we could arrange this event by a dealer in US, or maybe by several dealers?? it was only a suggestion:D

Of cause is not only about getting the best out of your Raidho speakers, but any speaker or system..

We both believe that the electrical and mechanical grounding of your system often is more important than your choice of electronics.

Kind regards
Lars

I'm not a Raidho owner, but I would like to welcome you to Audioshark. Thank you for joining:hi:

Lars,

I think this is an excellent idea. I have a suggestion - use video. If you were to do a series of YouTube videos (professionally done and edited), with yourself and Michael covering all the FAQ's. Not everyone has a Raidho dealer around them or will buy a plane ticket and fly to Boston like someone I know (cough, cough)....but with a series of videos on:

* mechanical grounding
* electrical grounding
* diffusion vs isolation
* amplifier matching for Raidho
* selecting the right Raidho speaker (based on some basic room information)
* proper cabling, what constitutes a good equipment stand vs a not so equipment stand
* natural room treatments vs artificial
* listening near field
* facts on Raidho speakers as it relates to break in, SPL, placement, etc.
....and a number of other topics.

I think there is a lot of misinformation out there and we are all trying to figure it out together (not the most efficient). As the experts, you can certainly ensure people start on the right path. You do I'm sure realize, a lot of what you and Michael believe in is in direct contrast to what is common practice here in the U.S. and Canada.

I would like to add, that I cannot believe how helpful you and Michael have been. Always responding to emails and phone calls and all my crazy questions! I have learned a lot and hopefully through an education series (Raidho University) - others can benefit as well. I think you could always augment by attending dealers and providing education like you did at Tim's (Blink High End). But the video series would certainly get the messaging out quicker and provide a great reference points for all Raidho owners or those considering a pair of Raidho speakers. I think its a great idea!

Agreed !!! Great idea, I for one and very confused about all the different model and what's best for my situation. And have alot of questions. Do I jump for the c1.1? Do I hold out awhile and get the d1's?
Should I wait and maybe get into a c2.1 or a d2?
Should I just be happy with what I have for awhile?
Do I pack up my amps and lug them up to rhapsody to see what they sound best with.
Do I trade my amps for perhaps something with a bit more tubed power(arc ref 150 :) )
Just too many questions I would have.
I'd love to have some help. Lol
Welcome to the forum!

Lars, welcome to the forum! I believe that your presence and participation here will prove very beneficial for the Sharks. Your workshop proposal sounds very interesting, especially the idea of not limiting the ideas to Raidho systems which should attract a wider audience. I'm familiar with your previous work and demonstrations with Nordost, which are known as having been some of the best in the industry. Your reputation and integrity precedes you, and I look forward to your further participation here!

+1 with Mike's video suggestion

It would be neat to have videos on this and such, but I personally don't see how this would work as the subject is uh...well....nearly completely subjective. There is no standard for audio systems and that's a good thing because we all hear differently and who doesn't want choice? Now if it's strictly for a particular product being integrated into a system, then it makes more sense.

I believe that there are certain fundamentals that Raidho understands very well, ie. mechanical grounding and electrical grounding as well as other standard principles and these basic principles would apply to ALL systems regardless of subjectivity.

Wouldn't that apply if one was building their own gear or having a problem in that area? More power to those that can do that.

Nope:) It would apply to anyone that is installing regular components. If Lars explains then you will see that it will pertain to the exact system that you now have, regardless of what components and speakers that it is made up of.....promise!

Bob, a big +1!:scholar:

Lars, welcome to AS! Great to have you hear and thank you so much for offering!:heart:

Mike, great list!!:cool:

I can personally attest to the ability of Raidho speakers to delineate every change, no matter how small, in your system. I was lucky enough to have Lars privately demonstrate some of his Ansuz products, which I am now waiting to receive.

There are many good products in today's audio world, but I felt particularly comfortable ordering from the people who designed such fantastic speakers, knowing how well it will all work together once my system is complete.

Well said Jon.

Nice idea Lars, and don't forget us in Asia too! :D

Your dealers are in desperate need for training...

While video has been suggested by several folks, mostly to solve the problem of reach, I actually prefer the workshop idea. The reason is - in a workshop environment people can observe and importantly "hear" first hand how resonance control devices, Schumann scaler field devices, thoughtfully designed distribution blocks & cables etc can deliver more music. The "hearing" bit will be missed by video and the bottom line after all is -- "hearing is believing".

Regards
Ralph (Kiwi)

Do videos and do seminar training.....it's all good. You could also set up a video conference that could have different viewing locations throughout the world. Everyone connects in with a group of local enthusiasts and Lars or Michael has a discussion, even with questions from the global audience. :exciting::woot::panic:

Welcome Lars
I would love to go to a workshop I don't own Raidho speakers but there always seem like there something to learn and meeting new people and talk audio gear is alway cool I hear Florida is nice this time of year too hint hint

Cause of my job traveling around the world, I don't no how many times in the last 40 years, you start to have a few ideas what works beautiful and what doesn't.. Both Michael and I most of the time have to setup systems in the most strange and really bad sounding rooms... You as costumers always will measure the quality of our performance... When you like the sound in our room, you will say, wow what great speakers these guys make, but when the same speaker with the same electronics sound bad, you will say... Why are people spending so much money on such bad speakers...
Life is not easy for a speaker manufacture. :)
The difference in the performance you most of time will get when you are working with the tools you have available... Tools wich makes much better electrical and mechanical grounding..
Most people are always talking about powerful electronics as a must have... We don't we are always talking about the quality and not quantity.
Do I prefer a small integrated amp and a nice small cd-player where you have the best grounding, compared to a very expensive setup with bad grounding?
Absolutly yes... That is the way we are setting up our system in our own demo room at Raidho... But I also do the same at home and in our summer house..
Do we hate big amps, not at all... But with out good electrical and mechanical grounding these big amps even the best of them don't work and then we start to have problems.. Too much is as Michael says, are sticking out...
All our speakers can sound wunderful with even very small amps.. We have even tryed to play our Raidho C-4.1 with a single ended 30 watts amp... Sounding fantastic... Could I live with a system like this... Absolutely .... Yeah man... :woot:

Now that is beautiful music to my tube loving ears. I'm looking for more watts to be able to run a wider range of speakers so I have more options for my 100w snappers. But I'd rather be looking for less watts because SET and that wonderful huge soundstage and emotional Involvement is where I'd rather be.
Thanks for that great philosophy!!!
