How many hours a week do you listen

When I get new gear - 12 hours per day

When the gear get more than 5 months old - 2 hrs per day

When I get no new gear for last 7 months - Time to spend more time with wife. ;)

I wish I had more time. 1 to 3 hrs/week
I had to rethink this either my calculations were wrong or my priorities were wrong. Thankfully my calculations were wrong. Not necessarily hifi (car) and my bedroom setup which is hifi. I'm 12 to 15 hours range still low but way better.

If I count the number of hours as casual, background music listening then I too am up around the 70 hour mark since I play my upstairs setup all day while working and then into the evening while we make dinner, etc.

Let me ask this a different way:

Not counting back ground music listening, how many hours a week do you just sit down and listen with focused attention on the music and no distractions?

For me, that seems to be right around 4-6 hours a week.

Dedicated listening currently 15 - 20 hours per week; Pandora or NPR classical in the background while using the Internet or reading. My new addition with a dedicated media room s/b ready in a few weeks and my dedicated listening will be able to extend.

The hours used the hi-fi system for audio looking at TV, listening to radio, watching movies (DVD, Netflix etc), youtube etc. should be counted in.
Having a hi-fi system is a great joy.
So happy that I discovered this fantastic hobby.

I would say I average 5 hours during the day and 2 in the evening. I then go up and watch TV with my wife from 9 to 11 catching up on what we have recorded.

None at the moment! I sold my old Aesthetix Romulus and am awaiting delivery of my new Vitus SCD-025 in 4-6 weeks :woot:
